I would have mentioned Heart of Stone if someone else hadn't.

Here's a newbie then: the 'solo'! on Ain't Too Proud to Beg.

Winning Ugly
Hold On To Your Hat
Amost Hear You Sigh (His ONLY nylon-string guitar solo?)
It's All Over Now.

And Taylor's only contribution to HTW was overdubbed slide - which is being played as lead isn't it?
Yeah, Keith's doing a choppy break there - but you call that lead?

I always considerd the slide as lead.

Dual leads maybe.

I'll have to give it another listen after 40 years, it seems like!

Im sure it's not Keith on Time Waits for No-one. Positive.

As sure as pics are pics.

I'm with on 'Ain't to Proud to Beg' Ed...er, Four Stone Walls. A vastly underrated effort in my view. Simple and straight to the heart and packed with power. And yes indeed it is Keith on 'Time Waits for No One.' Another great one is his break on 'The Last Time' and I absolutely love his solos on 'Star @#$%&' and 'Honky Tonk Women' from Love You Live. Keith was very possibly at the peak of his powers at that time. And finally, send me yer address for Chrissakes Eddy! I've got stuff to send you!

No, that's not Keith on Time Waits For No One. That's Mick T.

<Amost Hear You Sigh (His ONLY nylon-string guitar solo?)>

Ye, if you don't count the intro on Paint It Black live.

DP,

no, I don't count it - that's an intro - worthy of separate thread however.

Yeah, Keith is playing his lead, but the mix is sort of burying him. Suits the song, imo.

ChrisM honey, let me stroke your forehead - now what track was it that you were thinking of when you wrote that?
Time Is On My Side, maybe?

i think to really listen to Keith at his best, it's best to go back to where he was actually the lead guitar player, before they hired Mick Taylor to take them through the Guitar God era, which was why Mick was hired in the first place... in that, I think Keith's best solos are Tell Me, Stoned, The Singer Not the Song, and Under My Thumb... (Brian only did slide solos)

No one mentioned Gimme Shelter (studio) yet? This is my fave by a long way.

Same here. I can't believe no one has mentioned it. Even after all these years it sends chills up my spine.

The Fight-solo is cool. Both the Berry-licks and the part with slide. The latter really spices it up.

Atmospheric-wise, the solo on Almost Hear You Sigh deserves a mention.
