Pretty cool version I gotta say. The Boss kicks major arse as always.

Not bad for playing it the first time ever and having a kid on drums who wasn't even born when the song first came out.

BROOOOOOOCCE.

Springsteen covers the Stones

U2 covers the Stones

Which means they BOW to the Stones

the Stones will ALWAYS be KING!

Jesus...people cant let a tribute pass without it being a dick-waving contest.

So by that yardstick, Bo Diddley, the Beatles and Chuck Berry are better than the Stones?

Guy is so cool! Took over the position as best rocking stadium artist for sure in my humble opinion.
He played the request 'Pretty woman' in Munich. Big fun.

Mick and Ron cannot even play a non rehearsed Stones song I am afraid....

Wow, those Boss fans look mighty hungry for a Stones' song. Hopefully, the Stones can pull it together for another tour, but I have my doubts - hope I'm wrong - one more time would be special.

That was suprisingly good . I'd have been glad to be there ,unlike my dreadful Bon Jovi experience.

Uh.no. We're not mighty hungry for a Stones song. It's just fun to watch Bruce take these requests and play them on the fly....and play them well.

I just do not believe that this was not planned/prepared. Its just like the Stones internet choice of some time ago. You can even see he is reading the words on the teleprompter.

Ok, its Satisfaction and not Gomper, so probably everybody in the band has already heard/played/sang the song 1,000 times before. But its too tight to be completely unrehearsed!!!

Bruce and Keith are pals. The respect goes the other way, too. But I doubt we'll see them covering The Boss.
Good version this one. Tanks for posting.

...and by such strange logic:

Which means they BOW to the Beatles

the Beatles will ALWAYS be KING!

bowing is overrated.

"Those Boss fans" refers to the ones in the video - you might want to take another look - they were thrilled.

From what I've heard, the crew quickly loads the lyrics into the teleprompter - easy enough to do in the Google/Internet age (in fact, I've seen bands in clubs do this...calling up lyrics and reading them off their IPhones or Blackberries!) Also, with other covers they've done on this tour, you see band members (Bruce and others) calling out or hand-signaling the chord changes, etc. After watching many of these "request" cover song videos (and seeing a few shows in person), IMHO it's not pre-planned.

As for the song being "too tight" - like you said, everyone in the band probably knows the song, but don't forget these guys have been together forever (35 years for some members)...they are a very tight band to begin with, and can play most anything...something like "Satisfaction" is right in their wheelhouse.

Interesting. It would be nice to hear the Stones perform it more like the actual record, as well.

I think it's great.

Though the stuff with the teleprompter, chords, lyrics, etc. may be true,it's still an excellent job.

I'm thinking all of these guys have played this 100's of times in bar bands.

As far as the teleprompter goes. That's why he holds the sign up. So the sound booth can see it,look up the lyrics and load them into the teleprompter. As far as the chords, they've been known to do a quicdk rehearsal on stage before. But he usually just tells the band what key to play it in and off they go.smiling bouncing smiley

Thanks for posting that, that was cool!

Satisfaction ain't that difficult a song so a quick run through
back stage would work just fine.
The hardest thing about doing this on the fly is remembering
which verse comes first, etc.

Notice how the lighting guys messed up killing the lights on everybody
except the drummer for the first little drum solo? Looks fairly
spontaneous to me ....

Good work Bruce!
