>>The set list hardly changed then as it does now!!!!<<

wrong - the setlist even changed in a single day!

>>What does it matter?<<

yeah right - why do we even bother to post anything about them Stones? eye rolling smiley
my inital Q was about the chair and the injury anyway.
I looked up the date to see where in France they actually played - not to start yet another setlist-whining-thread.

wasn't aware they played a Hang On Sloopy Theme. did you know that?

It was in Marseille ,March the 30 th .Not In Paris.
The leg of the chair hit him just under his left eyes.So he needed stitches.

This board has way too many off topic threads. I'm not interested in beatles & bosses. I never knew Mick got attacked with a chair. Now THAT'S interesting!

Really? so that Rock almanac got the date wrong?

under his left eye, not hand or arm - so I hadn't heard of this incident after all.
but, but... 8 stitches under the eye^^ that would look a bit...noticeable, to say the least.
do you have any links or pics or so to back that up?

anyhow - thank you, Sway.

Rockalmanach didn't date wrong because they talked on a concert at The Olympia in Paris on March the 29 th .
But there was another show in the South of France,in Marseille :
30/03/1966 Marseille, France, Salle Vallier (2 shows)

In the interview Freddy HAUSSER made (DVD 1976 Les Stones aux Abattoirs )
Mick said about it :
"It wasn't very nice !"

Here is the article Honestmanadded to his blog .winking smiley

...They began their 5th British Tour in fate-September, supported by The Spencer Davis Group, playing two shows a night over 24 days.
Keith Richard was knocked out cold by a flying missile at one gig and Jagger was cut on the face during a show in Manchester...

Well, they didn't exactly play it, as I recall-- more like a few bars with tongue in cheek at the start of Get Off Of My Cloud. Still, worth hearing...

Mick wore Keith's shades at a few shows after the incident - they looked pretty cool on him too
the Stonevikings have some good shots of that on their site

Rockman ,I haven't seen this Jagger pic -Bent Rej 's book was on my list for Christmas ...- so thank you for posting it !
I think that if you can't see the stitches it's because they must have falled already -6 days after the incident -

Were you there ,honey ? hot smiley In France ?
Blymey ! It always reminds me how much I would have love to see the band in the early days ....Now that they are getting old and that I am unfortunately getting older too...I really feel how much they were an important part of my life.

I remeber seeing a photo of Mick's hand with stitches, it was probably this.

The picture was taken by A. Leibovitz and I saw it at her exhibition. I can not find the picture on the net to post it unfortunately.

I wasn't a RS fan back then, so I didn't pay too much attention, but it still attracted my attention and I remember it clearly. There was some text beneath the picture, where Leibovitz explained that Mick was generally very careful about himself and that the fact that he was injured sort of shocked him and he wanted his arm to be photographed with the stitches to document the event.

I don't write it exactly - as I wrote I didn't pay too much attention back then, but I remember something like this. If somebody finds the picture, I will be happy to see it again.

There's a bootleg (from Knebworth 76 I think) with Mick on the cover lifting his sunglasses to show his black eye.

open-g and SwayStones

Sorry for the confusion. I was not there. I was recalling what I'd heard of the show on boots...would've been cool to be there, but I was still a bit young, not to mention on the wrong side of the ocean...

Thank you for posting the picture, it is not the one I saw, but it is interesting anyway. On the one I saw was only the hand. It was really a portrait of the wound or how to say it.

Do you refer to the Andy Warhol ones ? Mick cuts his wrist when he goes through a glass door at a restaurant in Montauk .
