I don't think as a song it's anything special, in fact it sounds a bit repetitive, and certainly sounds nothing like a hit, but it does have a great feel which does give the impression the Stones were far from finished in a creative sense. I always enjoyed the feel of a lot of the Stones ballads from this period, in addition to Mick's soulful vocals. It's really an example of the Stones feeling their way with a song, and searching for a key, but in this instance they seem to be struggling to find that magic ingredient. However, i still like it more than pretty much all their post 1981 output - it's certainly not as clinical sounding.
