Re-Record Travelin Man or Highway Child

Lets face it, the Jagger-Richards partnership has not produced a heavy rff oriented hit single since Start Me Up, which was released in 1981 and as we all know re-recorded from a prior recording session. I guess we can argue that Saint of Me comes close and a few others but, again, not a "hit" single.

I understand Jagger hates to dwelve into the past, but c'mon, there is a huge and dare I say "classic" stones rocker in the form of either Travelin Man or Highway Child, which are both just sitting there, waiting for another look.

My suggestion is to re-record either and Whamo! Big hit, classic sound, etc etc, Stones back on top of the world! Man if it was this easy in real life . . .

or even criss criss man:

Travelin Man by a long shot.
Highway Child never goes anywhere and it sounds like a messy Jagger riff.

The whole band is shakin on Travelin Man...I bet the whole studio was rockin to and fro.

Criss Cross is finished, it's fine the way it is and they should have put it on Soup!

I wonder how much of the Travellin Man riff is via Mick Taylor; so therefore would never be a candidate.

A better idea is to release them as they are!

BTW, it is called Criss Cross Mind not Man. However, a great track. It should have been on GHS instead of Can You Hear The Music.

I applaud an artist that is constantly moving forward and doing new things, Neil Young comes to mind, but the irony here Terry is that looking back is precisely what the Stones do in there live shows!

Thanks Ghostryder13! You Da Man!! or should I say Da Travelin Man!!!!

Any info on Travelin Man? Is this a Taylor production? Sounds like only Taylor could be that smooth. What year/album was this being worked on? Any other interesting notes about the song?

Cheers!!!!
