"..a young cowboy named Newman Jones..".
It's odd - Charlie will immediately defer to Keith or Mick if they are around. He just has no interest in talking to interviewers, LOL.
But tell me this: the first segment - should that figure in the "Does Jagger wear a wig" thread?" LOL He looks hilarious. Is that his version of a Keith hairdo? Especially at about 2: 17, the wider shot - what is that? Haha..
HB - I don't know where you are finding these clips, but they are superb.

It seems to be true that 80% of the french population hit the road for holidays at the same time.

Here we go :

M.J :There's no differences between the official reasons and the real ones concerning Mick Taylor's departure.I think he wanted to play with other people ,other musicians, play a different music ,I don't know.He said he wants to do something else.So I said :Ok ,good then.

Journalist : Did you expect Mick Taylor to leave ?

M.J : Pardon ? Oh ,not really,it came all of a sudden. It's a pity because I like very much what he did with us.It's a problem because we always rehearsed before coming here .We had a lot of ideas for the shows and now we must find another guitarist ,and learn him evrything .But what can we do ?

Journalist :Whose one do you think ?who do you like to see playing and being the next/new Rolling Stone ?

M.J :I don't know,really !There are a lot of good guitarists ..a lot ..
But we need someone who can fit with the other members ,a personal/private feeling ,and who will get a lot of patience .Because when we are on tour ,we live together so he must be a sympathic person.
The firt thing he will believe is that I am tough and rude and I said to Mick Taylor :"Duck off ,leave " which is not true.

Sorry for the translation....I ain't very good in themes (prose ).
what would be nice is that someone would write it again in good English.

It seems to be from the "interview-sessions" during the recording in Munich.

Mick did a couple of interviews including one in german with that kinda bearskin too.
He was very bad-tempered at the beginning. Being unfriendly and telling the photographers who were doimg stills to stop it. Keith was very stoned.

>> Keith was very stoned. <<

smile: well, wouldn't you be if your main partner in crime were doing interviews with a stuffed cat on his head?

the Glimmer Twins really have displayed immense patience with each other down the decades :E

First time I've seen this interview was from a french TV show called "Jukebox" in 1975. This show was directed by Freddy Hausser who filmed the four paris shows in 1976 too.

As a good french guy, I'm back from holidays. Only 4 weeks in a row. I have 4 others weeks left and one week of RTT (c'est bien de chez nous ça). It's the same every year.

Reminds me another interview when Jagger was really bad-tempered -he made a fool of the journalist ...which one was it ?

Fantastic. Thanks for posting. Keith in his totally elegantly wasted mode. Interesting to see Charlie there having a smoke. Bet he cringes watching that, given his later problems. But Charlie is as cool and obtuse as ever. This is the Stones at their best!

Indeed august in France is a strange month sea, sex and sun...
About the "cosaque hat", it's exactly that, it could be a present from Rudolf Noureev to Mick. They were friends during 20 years.
