Keith's Talk Is Cheap knocks spots off of the rest.

Jagger's albums tend to be somewhat transient, nice-today-embarassing-tomorrow in their production.

Not sure if it counts as technically he wasn't a Stone but Ronnie's I've Got My Own Album To Do easily has the best tunes..

Wanted to say that too.
"I've got my own album to do" is not really a "Stones solo album". Because Ronnie wasn't in the band then.

Apart from that it's another great one of course!
Ron really did some fine albums.

Wandering Spirit, followed by Goddess In The Doorway and Primitive Cool.
Second Tier, Slide on This, and Gimme Some Neck.

Top 3:
Talk is Cheap
X-pensive Winos Live At The Palladium
Main Offender

. . . I prefer a rock n' roll album to be made by a band, not a collection of individuals.

On the internet nobody knows
you're Mick Jagger

Probably objectively musically the best one is 'Talk is cheap'.
My personal fave is 'She's the boss'. Love that album.

1. Talk Is Cheap - Keith
2. Wandering Spirit - Mick
3. Live At The Palladium - Keith
4. Slide On This - Ron
5. First RK album - Bill

1 and 2 could have been combined to a GREATE Stones album....... ;-)

The consensus seems to be 'Talk Is Cheap' and 'Wandering Spirit' are the best. I have to agree with that, though I think if you want the best look at what Mick would really sound like as a solo artist, 'Goddess In the Doorway' is it. It's truly representative of Mick minus Keith. That doesn't make it the best or even better, just an observation really. Wandering Spirit tries a little too hard for that Stones-y sound, IMO (probably the work of Rick Rubin as much as anything else). Talk is Cheap and Wandering Spirit, on the other hand, perfectly represent Keith minus Mick - good grooves, nice riffs, the occasional catchy chorus but many of the songs seem a little unfinished. That's because Mick wasn't there to help tighten things together. So I think 'Goddess in the Doorway' and 'Main Offender' probably best represent the deepest artistry of their respective artists, while I feel that, again - musically speaking, 'Wandering Spirit' and "Talk Is Cheap' boast the most satisfying and cohesive collection of songs. I have little to say about 'She's The Boss' or 'Primitive Cool', other than that they are merely average to my ears. And Ronnie's had some decent ones too, especially 'I've Got My Own Album To Do'.
