Stones Stuff in London
Posted by: SomeTorontoGirl ()

I've booked a trip to London in October, and noticed this exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery - does anyone know if it's been shown before, or whether it's worthwhile?

Also noticed this in my web surfing - I hadn't heard if it before but looks pretty kitchy: [www.itsonlyrocknrolllondon.co.uk]

I'm checking around for local gigs while I'm there but finding nothing yet. If anyone knows of anything interesting around the 2nd / 3rd week of October it would be great if you could post.

Don't believe a word of it ... this person lies compulsively. These bands are no good at all, you won't enjoy seeing them, you'll walk out after the second song, you'll regret having even made the effort, it'll rank as one of the worst experiences of your life .......... etc etc

OK, I'm lying. They're brilliant. GO ... GO GO GO GO GO !! The Stoned are the better of the two in our humble opinion, but see either of 'em - and you'll have a blast.

Many thanks!

MOWAT, I did get to the V&A last time through, and I may get in again.

Beast! You are truly magnificent - the Rollin' Stoned looks like a great gig. They've been mentioned before, so that looks like a winner. (Pauly, thanks for the second opinion!) Are either of you likely to go? And if anyone else wants to make come, it would be a great way to celebrate (nearly) the 49th anniversary of a chance encounter on a train platform.

That's the Half Moon, Pultney, Oct 16th!

Well OF COURSE I'll be going, so will the good lady Beastess if she's in residence at that time, we never miss a Stoned gig at the Half Moon in Putney if we're around. See you there. The usual SW London posse normally attends, Adrian-L, Manofwealthandtaste, BarRoomQueen, Mr Jimmy, so you'd be in good company.

Hmmm ... 3,000 odd miles separating you from FOS at the Half Moon Putney on the day in question. Let me think on this awhile, we need a creative solution. I've got it ... call the "real ones", maybe they can stand in for 'em.

Looking forward to it! And if the Real Ones show up over here, just for the glamorous Beast, I shall be a titch peeved!

You can't do much better than check out this amazing piece of work that was posted on here a while back. Make sure to scroll all about and further than you think or you'll miss a lot of stuff that's outside central London or even outside London altogether. Or alternatively, click on the categorized markers on the left. You'll even come across the Half Moon pub! Not to mention the Bull's Head in Barnes where Charlie played recently. Etcetera, etcetera....
