Very exciting about YA-YA'S. I'm not wholly surprised as the EXILE outtakes will involve ABKCO as a publisher. For ABKCO to grant the release, the Stones usually have to cooperate with their own plans and an expanded YA-YA'S is a nice treat.

Apart from what the cd will contain..

''DVD with never before seen footage & extras''

This seems very exciting,i can't immediately think of anything available on bootleg that would fit the criteria ie never seen before 1969/70 footage

The Ya-Ya's news is THE best Stones news of the year.

Of course, I just can't wait to get another copy of Jump Back....

Maybe they'll also reissue:
Made In The Shade
Time Waits For No One
Sucking In The Seventies
Rewind

All with bonus tracks, ha ha....

Re: New releases (Universal Music)

my two cents worth:

The Ya-Ya's 40th will include

Disc 1) original version with the same 10 tracks-it makes economic sense to leave
this release as is and just include the additional songs as....
Disc 2) EP with the 5 NYC performance tracks not included on Ya-Ya's-
(You Gotta Move, Prodigal Son, I'm Free/Under My Thumb, Satisfaction)
Disc 3) BB King and Ike & Tina Turner's sets
Disc 4) DVD-what ends up on this most probably will be the GIMME SHELTER out-takes
that the Maysles initially wanted to include on the Criterion DVD but were
nixed by ABKCO-i.e., Midnight Rambler and other songs for which ABKCO holds
the publishing rights. (Note that the bonus tracks which were included on
the GIMME SHELTER DVD were songs not written by Jagger-Richards and
therefore not subject to ABKCO approval.)

I was at that concert so I am hoping for the entire concert with BB King and Ike and Tina. This would be a great release indeed.

Besides the excitement concerning Ya Ya´s, I notice this concerning Live At The Max:"DVD will also feature a 35 minute tour documentary.". Interesting!

Wow, the YaYa's announcement made my day!
A real surprise!

If they don't spoil this a dream would finally come true!

And, - B.B. King and especially the Ike & Tina T. Revue were hot in those years!

Wait until Kent reads this!!

It's way cool of course. Don't see the point of releasing Jump Back though. Jump Back is now as relevant as Rewind was when Virgin released the catalogue in 1994. Don't get me wrong. Jump Back is great and it's a classic compilation to me. I love it. But..... Why??? They should make a new one LIKE Rewind or Jump Back. Not release the old comp. Make a new one with approx. one song from SF to ABB. I love the idea of Live At The Max as a new release. The released DVD version we have now, is like a video transfer. I hope they use the 3D one or something to up the quality. Of course Ya-Ya's is the stunner. I can't wait for it. It looks like the vaults are opening, though I'd have preferred one big bad box when they stopped in the future.

Thanks to Yazid btw. Your input is vital.
I don't kno why I still think "I wanna see it before I belive it" though.

Lastly let me tell you this: If you all want more vault stuff, then buy all of the releases to let them know that there's money in it.

huh? buy stuff we've already bought probably x3 already again to prove we're tired of buying the same stuff and really want different stuff? yeah, that makes total sense...

It's almost like someone has made this up !!! That's how un-real this announcement feels!!

Entire concert 1st time ever?? Mmmm...I have my doubts it will be an un-edited version, but more likely Ya Ya's plus Satisfaction, the acoustic numbers, and perhaps 1-2 more songs from all of the different MSG shows.

The footage sounds fascinating...i know I sound like a bore but it might be the Hendrix backstage stuff at MSG, and maybe the Rainbow room interview..??
Anything other than what is out on snippets of bootleg material will be superb...

it is indeed hard to guess what "entire concert" might mean, *plus* "five unreleased numbers"
but ... ~*YEAH!*~ bring it on
