Floyd could easily do it as long as Roger Waters rejoined. They could do The Wall show again over at least 10 nights then feature a different album each week.

fact is :

Michael Jackson Sold 50 O² show. Sold these shows before his death. That is a fact.

Elvis could sell 1000 shows (problem : dead some 32 years ago)

Probably Beatles would sell 5000 shows (problem : john & george are totally dead, and forever)

doors : 20 show (problem : JM is dead)

hendrix : maybe 30 show, dead before selling tickets.

Michael Jackon made a record of his own. HE SOLD THE SHOWS. AND THAT IS A FACT.

Yes, because he was the only one crazy enough to play one and the same venue 50 times (except for those vegas acts like Celine Dion and Elton John). Most artists won't do something like that because it is too boring. But that doesn't mean nobody else is be capable of filling the O2 areana 50 times+.
And that's all we are discussing.

Maybe Guns 'N Roses in their orignal lineup would also be capable of filling the O2 arena 50 times+.

The problem with Jackson is that he always tries to break records. He seems obsessed with filling the Guiness Book to the point where it is ridiculous.
I mean whats the point e.g. in producing the most expensive music video ever? Also reading his ideas about the 02 stage show was weird to say the least (taking elephants and panthers on stage...!?!? Wtf).

Certainly believe Zep could sustain a 50 date tour with ease. Whether they could do that soley at one venue I'm not so sure. I'm not sure that any living artist has the pulling power to do that. I would've have been suprised if Michael Jackson actually completed fifty shows. That's quite a gruelling challenge.

Not when its spread over 7-8 months it isnt. The shows were staggered from July to March.

Stones will always be my favorite BUT Floyd are as near to being as good as The Stones as it gets. They are brilliant because they are totally different and there's no real comparison.

Boring??? no way Brilliant YES

Rumours say that the Jacko consert arranger is trying to get ABBA on stage in Lonodn insteaf of Jacko.
But, don't think that will be possible - ABBA would be a joke if they went back onstage.
They have not played live for more than 20 years, Annfrida and Agnetha don't have the girl lokk that takes to sing dancing queen, mamma mia etc.
If they go onstage it will be a disaster and in principle ABBA does have enough money and are not in deep debt like Jacko.

Agnetha doesn't look that bad - can't find any recent photos of Ann.

G'N'R couldn't do it as the original lineup - Axl would go into some stupor over some emotional issue and throw the piano off the stage and by the 5th show he's refuse to come onstage causing what! A RIOT!

The O2 would never book them for that long.

ABBA maybe...

Neither the Stones, nor Led Zep, The Who or any other rock band.
Even a resurrected Freddie Mercury may not make it.

50 arenas is only for mainstream music, and ABBA reformed after 30 years is the only plausible option nowadays IMO.

Led Zep offered O2 slots

MUSIC bosses hope Led Zeppelin will play some of Jacko's O2 arena gigs.

AEG Live, the team behind the King of Pop's 50-night stint, want the rock supergroup to alternate shows with Abba.

Both bands - who have sold 600million albums between them - have been offered big money to reform.

Led Zep stars Jimmy Page, 65, Robert Plant, 60, and bassist John Paul Jones, 63, have been approached.

They played their only concert in 19 years at the O2 in 2007 and are seen as one of the few acts who could rival Jacko. His This Is It tour was due to start at the London venue on July 13.

AEG face multi-million pound losses if they cannot fill the slots. A source said: "Only Michael Jackson could sell out 50 nights at such a big arena, but Led Zeppelin and Abba combined might just rival him. There is huge money on the table."

Let's face only Michael Jackson could do it. And he proved to all of us and did. Well maybe Zep.

The O2 holds 20,000, but I don't know how much of the arena would have been blocked off for staging. Let's estimate 700,000 - 1,000,000 tickets. Tickets were 95 GBP each, so that is a TON of cash.

There are not enough people out there to see Pink Floyd or Led Zep or Paul or any other classic rock act. I think that the only act that could fill these 50 dates would be a reunited ABBA, and that's because they've been gone for a long time, were HUGE when they were together (at least outside the US), and interest in their music has never been greater because of Mamma Mia! My youger daughter (age 11) knows all of ABBA's songs.
