I remember really liking Three Dog Night when I was something like nine years old.
I finally got to see TDN in 1973, with Rod & Faces opening, not knowing that with that opener, I was getting a pretty good preview of what I'd really be into later on.
then after I heard Sticky Fingers, that settled it for life, tho the Who is a close second, but still, nowhere near the obsession.
and, i should add, I still like the first two -- saw Carlos open for the Stones on Mick's birthday Oakland final show of tour 1978, never did see Creed. or any later survivors, incarnations.
don't kill me: Pink Floyd when I was like... 15 years old. then I got hooked on the Stones, first on their image, if I remember correctly, then music ;-)
I was 15 years old when I discovered the Mamas & Papas. That was back in 1967. In 1968 I discovered the Stones and never looked back. Interestingly, every band that I liked through-out the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90,s and on, I still like.
I always liked the Rolling Stones, along with a lot of other bands, just like now. Always one of my most favorite, but no band is the beginning and end for me.
