Corruption - that's what I thought, too.
Anyone with half an eye could see at least 3 penalties. Chelsea fans saw everything from five to seven.
Now I hear the ref had to be moved to another hotel - with police escort - in the middle of the night. And he was smuggled to the airport this morning.
The vikings have a bad reputation from other events at Stamford Bridge, but this one was a complete disgrace. A night we will remember as "The Night Football Lost". And "The Great Spanish Robbery".

cool down! 1 penalty could have been given, ok. but what happened in the first game? henry didnt get one either. and the red card wasnt a red card! you have to admit.
and as i said: a team that is just defending and destroying and that is not able to win against only 10 players, doesnt deserv to play the finals!
and everybody who has some football knowledge knows thta barca is just the much better team! barca celebrates ART, chelsea DESTRUCTION. so: football WON yesterday!!!!!
"Everybody who has some football knowledge" wouldn´t complete the sentence with
"knows that barca is just the much better team"!
They didn´t win one match....against Chelsea,forgotten ?

It was a bizarre match with a lucky "winner" and despite all conspiracy theories
Chelsea could have won simply by using their chances.
They failed,that´s it.

These Chelsea players behavior is unacceptable..

After watching the entire match, I was unable to watch the entire match yesterday...Chelsea, especially Dogba, missed a few golden opportunities to make it 2-0 or 3-0.

Still, bad missed calls by the refs...but that seems to happen a lot lately in all sports.

Barca fans saw no penalties, Chelsea fans up to seven.
I'm neither a Chelsea or a Barca fan and i'm not from one of the countries the clubs are from so i consider myself as quite neutral in this case. After reviewing the situations on YouTube and TV my personal count is three penalties.

Anyway, i don't think the referee was bought because of the red card at a point in the game when Barca badly needed a goal (in my opinion it wasn't even a foul).

They question is, why did the UEFA select a referee with almost no top level expierience for a game like this. Ovrebo was sent home from the European Championship in 2008 after his lousy performance in the game Italy vs. Rumania. He is just not a good referee and UEFA should have known before.

Funny how memory is so selctive.

There where a couple of penalties not called on the Home game; on the same match there were three or four Chelsea players that should have seen a yellow card and miss last night's match. So yes, Barça was ripped off on their home pitch, and they did not cried foul. But thats Chelsea, a bunch of classless millionaires unable to win one.

Go Barça....

Hi Wild Slivovitz, you are completely right, Chelsea should win yesterday.

But considering both matches, only one team play football, that's Barça. Chelsea park a coach in front of his goal in both matches, (9 defenders and only Drogba on top) and expected to see what happen. Do you hear about the italian catenaccio.

And talking about the referee and penalties, review the images and the different "dives". Probably only Pique's hand is penalty but the other ones including last one of Etoo, back to the ball, that Ballack get crazy.

And also talking about the referee, don't you think strange that first yellow card for a Chelsea player was for Essien in minute 73 in the 12th fault, yes 12 !!! to Andres Iniesta....

One team wanted to play and the other destroy. That's Justice!!!

Now ManU in Rome and next year Champions League final is in Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium, no better place to win for a Barça fan.

You guys seem to overlook that defending is also part of football, just like attacking. Real Madrid players and manager maybe think the same as you, and they ended up losing by 6 - 2. HIddink and Chelsea took care of the defensive side, destroyed the famous Barcelona's play, and deserved to win, given that no less that three clear penalty kicks were denied to them by the referee. If for you guys football it's only about attacking, then I'm sorry but you're missing a lot about this game.

Wasn´t it a german referee at least Guardiola complained (with right) about
after the first match beetween barca and chelsea ?
That´s about selective perception,yes - funny.

Chelsea are claiming they were robbed.

Now they know how Marks & Spencers stores feel every time John Terry's mum walks in the front door....

Adrian-L, great grahics. I have been cracking up with these through this thread. Thanks for the laughs. As for the game I thought the ref was brutal. Really poor management of the game. There should have been 1-2 penalities given in favor of Chelsea and that would have been it. Give Barca credit for not quitting. It was fantastic theater yesterday. I see Man U as a more balanced club. They can play tough defense and create chances. Barca have looked vulnerable and weak on the back line. Final should be fun to watch in a few weeks.

Published today in THE SUN

BARCELONA’S triumphant stars chanted John Terry’s name after the Chelsea skipper brushed aside his heartbreak to reveal the class of a true champion.
Despite his anger over the Blues’ controversial Champions League semi-final exit, Terry walked into the visitors’ dressing room and shook them each by the hand.

A witness said: “While Didier Drogba and Michael Ballack were behaving disgracefully towards the ref, Terry made a bee-line for Barca’s dressing room and, within seconds, loud applause broke out.

“Then we could hear them chanting his name — it was unbelievable.”

Barca boss Pep Guardiola confirmed: “I want to thank John Terry for coming into the dressing room and congratulating us. He’s a true gentleman.”

Iniesta convinced he´s gonna play the final today, after yesterday had problems in his knee.
And it couldn´t be yesterday with the last goal of Villarreal in the minute 91..
So yesterday same happened in Barcelona, but different score, Abidal out, goal against Barcelona minute 91, and Ronaldo crying in Manchester because he wants to go Real Madrid...
