Depends: do they go for the "lowest-common-denominator" aspects of their music- plenty of lesser known songs sound like or have the feel of many of the over-played 'war horses'.

They have a massive catalogue; and have played stuff in many different styles and flavors.

If they wanted to forget about all the "Greatest Rock n' Roll Band in the World" nonsense for a few gigs (and rehearsals), they could do amazing things; things that would mezmorize 14 year olds, 'neu' metal types, "world-beat" enthusiasts, hard-core serious blues peeps, "alt-country" sorts, even venture into the avant garde "downtown" New York scene if they wanted to. And all the time remain an authentic rhthym and blues band: enough og the "rock" stuff already- they can still pile on the rock n' roll as few working bands can these days.

But only if they want it. (hi Mick! can we have a chat about MUSIC, for a change?)

Typical Stones Twenty Ten Tour Set List:

Jumpin' Jack Flash
Tumbling Dice
You Got Me Rocking
Miss You
Angie
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Happy
Before They Make Me Run
Midnight Rambler
It's Only Rock'N'Roll
Brown Sugar
Start Me Up
Sympathy For The Devil
Satisfaction

Very inventive and it'll sound fantastic.

My guess: "The Stones play Exile On Main Street". No new album, but lots of bonus stuff on the re-released Exile. Only my guess, though...

I'd pay even 15$ if they played Continental Drift.

I want a truly stripped down, small theater tour of all blues tunes, featuring both an acoustic, and electric set...It should be something REAL fans will enjoy, not the knuckleheads who would be disappointed if there is no "Brown Sugar" in the show...

I'd like to think there's actually a real chance that they will do something pared down and different.
There would be little chance in the present climate of putting together a bigger and more spectacular tour than ever, even if they did still have the legs for it. They've always prided themselves on bettering and "out bigging" the last tour[...even if the consensus wasn't always that they'd managed it ;^) ]
With no for real scope Bigger and better stadium tours, they might conveniently adopt a "been there, done that" position and actually do some of the things we'd like them to.
Wouldn't make sense if they were onlyin it for the money...but they're still also addicted to performing and aren't likely to accept just yet that it's over.
Wishful thinking ? Perhaps...but not irrational.

The Stones just need to re-fire their immaginations (at least Mick and Charlie, since they seem to be the only ones left with any "outside the Stones Box" immaginations left).

Regardless of the size/type of venues played, they could indeed play all of Exile (or Satanic Magesties for that matter, it would probably be more interesting these days!).

Smaller tours, smaller venues, shorter sets, playing whatever THEY want to (ala Dylan, Neil Young, Lou Reed), as opposed to what's expected of them (greatest hits),and hopefully greatly reduced ticket prices- they can do these things, logistically/financially.

It's a matter of will...
