If you do find yourself face to face with Dylan, he may just completely ignore that you are even there. That's what happened to me in 2004, when Dylan was playing at the Wiltern for the Willie Nelson show with many special guests including Keith Richards. A friend and I waited by the back exit and when Dylan came out, we asked if he would sign an album. He ignored us and we walked down the street with him, only about a meter from him, until he got on his tour bus. He didn't have a security guard with him and he never said a word to us and didn't even acknowledg that we were there.

"I stumbled out, wandered across the street and almost literally walked into him. He was with Merle Haggard (joint tour at the time) seemingly just having a walk about North Beach. It took less than a seconds eye contact for his body language to become defensive"
Didn't Dylan say sth like "look at this bar. The minute I enter it the mood will change and everybody will look at me. How I wish I could join these people and spend a normal time with them..."

Several years ago I was in a bar and Mel Brooks was there with a small group of his friends. I was sitting at a small table with a couple friends. At some point Mel walks past us and says "Hi Fellas, having a good evening?" and kept walking. He passed us again a couple minutes later and he stopped at our table again and started talking to us. It was just odd, but great at the same time.

Playing three of his Christian-era songs on Palm Sunday 7 days ago would suggest that presumption isnt as clearcut as many would think.
Not to mention the amount of contemporary 'Christian' covers hes performed at his shows in recent years - Pass Me Not o Gentle Saviour, I Am The Man Thomas, Somebody Touched Me, etc.

I find it rather annoying if famous people come to my table to talk when I just want to enjoy a quiet meal...

His preference for these songs could indeed indicate he has not made a total switch back to the Jewish faith. Tonight, on Easter Sunday he opened with Gotta Serve Somebody (which is from '79 - right after his conversion to Christianity). Should this be regarded as a pretty strong message ?
