I tried listing my top 5...twice, each time the network failed when I hit the Post message button, so I'm taking that as a sign.

Derek and The Dominoes Live at the Fillmore
David LIve
Dylan Live at the Gaslight

Finally a mention of Derek & The Dominoes....10 star live album

A few complaints....
-Can't understand how you prefer "David Live" (re-titled "David Dead" by Bowie himself) over "Stage"....
- "Live At The Gaslight" is a bootleg....

I Believe some tracks from Live at the Gaslight were released legitimately through starbucks about two or three years ago.

Well, Gasslight I did indeed purchase from Starbucks. Love it.

David Live vs Stage. Well I like Stage, but prefer David Live...for me love how he changed his stuff and injected that soul shot that led him to Station to Station. Love it. Great versions of Sweet Thing, Moonage Day Dream is fantastic, so funky, and love Rock n' Roll suicide when he whispers, "YOUR NOT ALONE!"
I like Stage, but a bit antiseptic to me. A bit too by the numbers. BUt I will say the definitive version of Heroes on it! The violin is a little too much at times on a lot of the tracks.
Deric and the Dominoes live is such a thrill. Love it to death, especially the version of Blues Power.

Sorry you don't like David Live Eric, and it does test a lot of fans... but again just love how he turned his recent stuff topsy turvy and again adding a new direction from his space rock to more funk with the Germanic impressionism on the edges. And the only place you will find a significant slab of Diamond Dogs live. The new release with the Visconti remix and the added numbers is great.

Coincidentally I just recently got the expanded reissues of DAVID LIVE and STAGE -- I gotta say I think STAGE slays DL (and I'm a *huge* fan of DIAMOND DOGS but still...).

Thats ok, I don't mind being the underdog for David Live... never bored with it...
But both remixes are stellar aren't they...
And what about Santi Monica????? Isn't that sublime!

Baboon,
Yeah gotta love Mad Dog's and if you like it you would probably like Leon Live. Most of Leon's band played at The Concerts for Bangladesh... Great version of Out in the Woods and Jumping Jack Flash....I love the version of that on Concerts for Bangladesh, with the medley of Young Blood. I was stoked to get the Deluxe release of Mad Dogs with some cool additions. Under My Thumb is pretty cool.

Otis Live in Paris is fantastic. Great sound and the band is on fire. I prefer over Live in Europe and Monterey. Combines both the London and Paris shows with incendiary performances. The version of Satisfaction is on fire, verging on punk with horns. Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa grabs ya by the throat. And Try A Little Tenderness is my fav on it, just gut bucket wailing of passion and pain. Get it!

I have to add a few more left field ones.

Carmina Burana Carl Orff, the Boston Symphony is stunning. Bold, haunting, and full of eerie passion.

Beethoven's Fantasia in C Minor, Hungarian Radio Choir. Will bring tears to you eyes, like rays of sun bursting through the clouds.

Kenny Burrell A Night At the Vanguard. An incredible guitarist and one of my all time favorite jazz live discs!

Count Basie Live at the Newport. Have a mint japanese vinyl of this. Beats the sound of any CD I have heard. The horns and piano are in your living room.

On the Zeppelin front, I prefer disc 2 of the BBC sessions. No applause for the opening of Stairway to Heaven because it was the first public performance. I'll throw in:

Live/Dead
Ten Years After - Undead
Band of Gypsys
Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (disc 1)
Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison
