Am I the only one to think this song's utter rubbish?

No, your not.

This song may be the best evidence yet that there is no God, no higher being would give us this.

Thought I had this one figured out for you StratoGR, but I was remembering the wrong clip. I was thinking of the Simpsons episode with In A Gadda Da Vida. Still worth a listen, though. Rock and/or Roll on.

StratoGR - this song is one of the MOST BORING you'll ever learn - and if you do indeed go into a guitar store and start playing this load of utter shite you will be asked to leave.

FORGET IT. IT SUCKS. OVER DONE, OVER EVERYTHING.

Then play it polka style...a la Rolf.

The studio version works because of the layering/orchestration of all those guitar parts. Put the newly remastered edition of that version on a really good stereo system and sit in the sweet spot of the room. Pretty blissful.

But, live, with only one guitar and often not knowing just when to end the solo, not always so good.

Stairway suffers from over exposure. Its a truly great song, when listened to in the proper context. It is one of my alltime favorites, exept when Dollie Parton destroys it.

Jimmy Page is one of three alltime greats, along with Keith and Tony Iommi. These guys often catch slack, but think of some of the alltime most famous riffs, and chances are one of these three will be behind them.
