Dirty Work or Sticky Fingers...?
Posted by: Amused ()

and more seriously, it's getting warmer and I'm really freaking...
today I've listened to Let's Work (that's a guilty pleasure smiling smiley)
and Had It With You, let's just say stuff no one else probably likes,
and I didn't like them, but at least I wasn't bored.

this music just sucks but how many times in a @#$%& row can you listen to CYHMK?

I wanna be on top
Forever on the up
And damn the competition
I never play it fair
I never turn a hair
Just like the politicians
I wrap my conscience up
I wanna win that cup
And get my money baby
But back in the dressing room
The other side is weeping
And we're winning, winning ugly
And we're winning, winning ugly

actually there's some good blues going on...
give it good sound & production and it can work, as mediocre stuff
but still rocking wild.

I AM SOBER.
keep on rocking smiling smiley

In my opinion Dirty Work has been the worst RS album...Only save "One Hit" Great song,"Sleep tonight" Great Keef, "Too Rude" and a half of the title track...Sticky is one of the five masterpieces of the band with Beggars,Exile,LIB and Aftermath!!

To sum it up - "The 80s were pointless" This comment was expressed by another iorr member. I think it was in the A-Rod thread. Not sure, couldn't find it.

Yeah the 80's were so terrible. I cringe when I hear a Mutt lang record. Even in The Stones career it was a time that I would like to forget.

I really like Keith´s comment about not being able to play in a band with a posturing, posing lead singer...

I know....I was like "is he serious?" (disclaimer: I'm a HUGE Who and Zeppelin fan)...Mick makes those two guys (Plant and Daltrey) look like shrinking violets!

He's serious ....
He's sayin' he don't like that hair flyin' back heroic male
bravado posing... That posin' stuff like they've been tortured
then strapped to the front of a battle ship but they still gonna
break free and save all the chicks from ALL the bad dudes in the world stuff ....

Mick don't do that ....

Yeah Mick just prances and preens like a sexually ambiguous chicken, struttin' around the stage! :-D

I love Mick and the Stones but he's definitely the *least* masculine of those three front-men!

Dirty Work is by far and away the weakest Stones album of the 80s. Half of it is sloppy, throwaway, knocked off and kicked out tosh.

But, there are still highlights - One Hit, Harlem Shuffle, Too Rude, Winning Ugly, Back to Zero and Sleep Tonight are all great. That the outtakes are better than the album proper should tell you everything you need to know.

So six songs are great and the remaining four are crap? That´s pretty good for an album.
