IF we're talking bout the same scene, then I don't think that's Barger.
There was a a documentary I saw once where they interviewed the guy,
but I can't remember his name. I could be mistaken.
When I used to go see GS in the theater, that scene you mentioned
always got a big laugh from the audience.
The "lemmings of the sea" line got the biggest laugh, though.

Better yet I will give him flashbacks by prancing around like Mick and blowing him kisses. THEN when he comes at me THEN i will kick him in the crotch and run for my life. And when they catch me and hold me down for a meth and coke fueled beating I will just start yelling " WHY ARE WE FIGHTING ?!?!" " WE DONT NEED TO FIGHT !!"

according to rock scully's book, "living with the dead", i don't think sonny was at altamont. at least that's how i interpret it. that weekend there was a meeting of the HA governing board, which, i would think, would include sonny who was president of the oakland chapter and one of the power players in the HA. again according to rock, most of the HA who showed up at altamont were lower echelon or wannabes. i don't think sonny had anything to do with altamont other than its after-effects.

I thought Sonny Barger was the guy with whom Jefferson Aeroplane was having conversations with, after the beating up of Marty Balin - the guy wo was responding with angry tone things like "you talking to my people? I tell you what!"
