After seing Oasis, I admire the Stones even more...

Just got back from seing Oasis tonight. WHAT A BORING BUNCH of guys! Probably the most boring show I ever saw. The only thing on stage with clolour - a red Gibson! The rest was black and grey. (OK, so they have two songs that are OK!)

And if you weren't an old fan, people had problems telling one song from the other... I overheard a conversation after the show and had a good laugh.

People on this board who love slaughtering Stones shows, really ought to go and see Oasis. No comparison is fair unless you have the "Origo" - and Oasis were just that - ZERO! And they've only been a big act for like 15 years. What are those cats going to sound and look like in 35 years?? Already so grumpy and incapable of connecting with an audience.
I'll give'em cred for "Wonderwall", but that's just about it. What a waste of money this show was!

You can say the same thing about the vast majority of bands out there these days. What a sad state of affairs. Nobody wants to put any effort into entertaining the ticket buyers. They can all kiss my hairy bottom.

They seem to be one of these bands people either love or hate.

I saw them a couple of times in different settings (club, arena, stadium) over the last few years and they ALWAYS rocked the place. The Crowd went beserk at every single show and the connection with the audience IN PARTICULAR was good. My only complaint about Oasis concerts is that they never change their setlists. It´s too bad Zak Starkey is no longer with them, their new drummer is pretty mediocre at best.

I saw them in Brussels a few weeks ago. Great show.
It's a great band I think with a few awesome albums.
BUT !!!
They are not the Stones :-)

I cannot stand them, they spit out dirty remarks about different bands and including the Stones. They should look at themselves first. They can't even sing for God's sake. Why make them richer.

They were okay at Staples last month. They are an acquired taste. They have some great songs on the first few albums but they are quite lacking any dynamics onstage. Last 2 times I saw them I paid $20 and $5. Wouldn't pay full price. That said, I would love to see a stadium show in England.

I've seen Oasis repeatedly and they always put on a great show!
Most boring show you've ever seen?
Avoid RUSH...that takes top honors in my 200 live shows.

(I do like RUSH, but man do they just stand there or what?)

I saw Oasis for three times in the past, they are good, but not on one level with the Stones.

I haven't seen them live this time but in the past they alwyas put on enjoyable shows. At least they can play and they have some good songs. No comparison with the Stones - nothing like their range, back catalogue or spectacle and Liam is no Mick. But still, they never bored me!

again the same shit about the level of stones and other bands.
anyway , i love both bands but i think both are of the kind of bands who are over nowadays.
both bands sound like shit these days.
anyway , i think the stones has always been a far more better band than oasis , oasis sound in records sounds like shit.

Question. Why did you go and see them ?

First of all because I'm a music fan, and I liked two of their earlier albums.
2. Because they came to my home town.
3. I got an invitation.
4. It's always a good idea to check out different acts, to be able to compare.
5. I'm always waiting for a nice surprise.

And by the way, the critics agreed with me. Very boring show. Liam didn't move. He might have scratched his private parts, while standing there, uninspired - hands in his pockets - but I must've missed that...
They behaved as if the audience was a pain in the a** and showed no respect. I honestly never had that feeling in a Stones show (110 shows), a Springsteen show (20 something shows) Bowie concert (more than 30 shows). Not even Dylan's managed to be as disrespectful to his audience... Not even when he was standing with his back to the crowd. Oasis were a huge disappointment.

So you went to see Shitasis to compare them to the Stones? What - it must be REALLY boring there.

I don't need to admire the Stones more. There is no comparing them to someone else. There is no torch. Other bands do not matter. What, so what if Shitasis sounds like The Beatles. So what if the Black Crowes sound like the Stones or the Faces. So what if AC/DC's albums and songs all sound the same, like Chuck Berry on roids. Do you like them? "Oh, blooger me crouts, they sound like the 'ooo'. That would be great if someone sounded like The Who.

I love AC/DC. I like the Black Crowes. I hate Shitasis.

Oasis stink. The Beatles already did it all. The Beatles didn't come off as a group of stupid kunts either. The Black Crowes - heh heh, they've combined the best of two bands. And they're good. There are a lot of bands that are good. There are a gazillion bands that suck. But there is no comparison. You are who you are. If you're trying to be like AC/DC then, yeah, you're gonna compare them to that. There is no winning.

Hell, you can't even compare the Stones to themselves. And way so more now than ever before because Keith has gotten so far gone. This current version of the band might go down in their history as the worst, I dunno.

I dunno. Fook it. Go ahead. Go compare a shitass band like Shitasis to The Rolling Stones all you want. I really don't care. It's not like Shitasis are important or anything. And I know you're not saying you are flying the flag for them either. I just don't get the 'compare' bit.

"It's always a good idea to check out different acts, to be able to compare."

For me, this would be the worst reason to go to a show. Most of the shows I go to have either or all of the following: Loud guitars, still writing good new music, affordable admission, engaged and interested audiences. If I go in comparing every show to the Stones, it would usually be the Stones who look less favorable.

cant stand oasis.

liam gallagher looks like a right clown standing singing with his hands behind his back, why does he need to do this cant he move around.

oasis are boring, 3 or 3 good songs at best.

any comparisen with the stones is laughable.

stones must have made over 150 good songs.

now theres a debate if anyones up to it.

I thought Oasis measured themselves to be the new Beatles?
