The holes in the albums are awfully small...
If you really want to get to know a Stones record, try the 45's... They have larger holes.

Tony Curtis tells us a similar story in his autobiography. He and Blake Edwards were trying to impress the same girl and bet they could each fill the hole in a 45 RPM record. They both lost.

Musicians don't obsess over this stuff the way that fans do. In numerous interviews, George Harrison never seems to remember what tracks where on what Beatles album. I think that for the most part, once they are done with a piece of work, they move on. Of course, I think that Mick is faking it.
