I have a 1st gen (aud) tape off the master of this show(different than the cd). The best part of it(recording wise) is the B stage where Keiths Little Queenie licks are CRANKED UP and ruthless-best LQ perfromance of the tour I think. This venue I think kinda soured the Stones on the DFW area for awhile(they didnt come bace till 05).The venue was the "Texas Moter Speedway" and had a capacity for around 80,000 or more! They wound up playing to about 45000 but because of ticket sales
the sides of the venue were brought in which pissed off alot of people who had real close seats and then were backed way up! There were three bands there and I think the promoters got greedy as far as what they thought they could pull in. But the Stones still put on a great show. You can hear Mick refer to it at one of the other concerts as "some big concrete thing"! This SB should be great!

You were there scottkeef? So was I.

I don't think the speedway had a license to sell beer back then.
I remember there was a tent set up in the parking lot where you had to buy a club membership to get in and buy beer. And, of course, you could not leave the "club" with beer in hand. Dry county perhaps?
That seems to have changed, though, as the speedway was selling beer at the IndyCar race I attended last June.

I guess they voted themselves wet. My friend who taped the show( I wasnt in the same area as him)actually got a better recording than the aud cd thats out IMO. but the first few songs there were drunk girls behind him that tried to sing or scream "Micky, Micky"!! And you cant very well say "Shut Up, I'm recording!!"
Did you go to Dallas 05 AA Arena? I wish they would come back to the Tarrant County Convention Center(now the Ft Worth CC). Its been remodeled and I'm sure the rent would be cheaper but everybody goes to Dallas now. In the 70s FT Worth was where EVERYBODY played!

Looks like the original boot will come out of Japan including a book, hence the higher price, but it will be duplicated in Europe at a cheaper price without it.

No, I went to the Toyota Center in Houston.
Saw lots of hurricane destruction on the ride over from New Orleans.
Couldn't find a "Hurricane" CD at the show, but timbernardis was kind enough to send me one.

Wow, I look forward to hearing this! Soundboard versions of "Bitch", "Star Star", "Dead Flowers" and "Crazy Mama" have been either scarce or totally unavailable thus far. It's a good setlist from a great tour. I hope the audio is nice as well!
