I have this. It is on the Experience (Hendrix tribute DVD). It is truly awesome. Lots of great players. Mick does a great job on this song.

Yes MT proves he still has the chops. On time Waits MT did a good job with not playing the song for 35 years nice to hear those haunting guitar lines live. I thought his intro rhtyhm was right on.

The Vibrato still lives on.

Taylor's work in "Time Waits" is absolutely awesome - one can hear that he plays the things that are originated by him. What a wonderful, lyrical guitar song it is! One can ONLY imagine the spheres the song might have gone if he would have not left and if The Stones had brought the song live in 1975...(two many 'ifs'...)

But some more: IF the Stones ever tour again and IF they invite Taylor to join them for a song or something, please do play this tune...I think it would be appropriate in many sense.

Great playing for sure, but it's really boring imo.

Even more boring than these ever-repeating Chuck Berry-type solo noodlings as featured in today's Stones shows?

I bet you would be thrilled to hear guitar playing like this in a Stones concert today.

Thanks for posting this.

This seems to be the show from 2002. Odd that the Experience folks would reach back so far for a 2008 release when a recent tour (2007) might be of more interest.

In any case, the performance highlights some of the differences between Taylor and other guitarists who can and do play lots of notes. His solo has a engaging story and soul.

Now about his fiddling with the other guitarist's amp at the end . . .

The "Red House/Going Down Slow" medley shows that Taylor still has some extraordinary chops.

The TWFNO clip is less than impressive IMO. Taylor appears to be drunk.

Therein is the difference............and probably the reason Taylor has played the last 25 years in at times relative obscurity.........

I see Mick has the slide on his pinky, now thats correct, it gives a guitarist more options.

I worked at this show and can explain the circumstances here. No, Taylor wasn't drunk. He came down with a bad influenza / throat infection. During the day he was unable to stand up straight or talk. Taylor's crew were worried that he'd lost his voice. He spent the day in bed, trying to keep the throat problem at bay by using lozenges and sipping hot lemon drink. Then he got up an hour before showtime and went to the venue to play.
Consequently he was not in top form but he rose to the occasion and summoned his last energy to give the audience their money's worth. He was completely wiped out after the gig. On the way back to the hotel he was complaining himself that he was not happy about the way he had played Time Waits For No One.

Love In Vain - no words can describe this. One simply does not not hear such quality guitar work at Stones shows anymore.

Magic. Is there any recording of Mick's concert in South London in December?

Yes, this Red House is from the Street Scene Hendrix tribute in San Diego 2002. Here's a pic I took of MT in action.

Perhaps he can try again during one of his filmed shows in Germany or Tokyo?

Beautiful shot, Harold. Nice "heart" effect in the lights.
