Ah! So they have - I forgot they did I Got The Blues.

Whatever. Point is, they HAVE played 'other' songs but there are so many more to choose from that they have not ever played live. Or even ones they have only played once, for instance, Dancing With Mr D or 100 Years Ago, etc...

dancing with mr. d done throughout the '73 tour...100 years ago done twice that tour...but definitely agree with your point....

but, baby, baby, baby they're (almost) out of time....

Yeah. I don't think time is on their side anymore. Hell, tomorrow is the start of Carnival again!

same as what they should do/should have done on every previous tour

- Transparent and fair ticketing arrangements

in other words they should APOLOGISE for the rip offs of the last 20 yrs

Are you really serious? Rip offs of the last 20 years? What kind of rip offs? What the f@ck are you talking about?

The really really really expensive tickets? I know - don't go if you're gonna feel ripped off. Hey - I haven't gone since 1994! Back when tickets were expensive! Ha ha.

what i'm talking about buddyboy is the way they have corporatised the whole rock concert experience - high prices, big stadiums, etc etc

Eh - I thought the sponsors were supposed to 'help' keep ticket prices down?

So if that is still true, then what would they actually cost without Bud or whatever sponsor as it is now? I think some of it is just arrogance and greed - and I don't think you can just point that at the Stones - it's the promoter as well if not more so or totally.

For those that can only say negative things about the band I must ask, why do you even bother to listen, go to the concerts or comment about something you no longer enjoy?

i think many of us don't listen to much or any of the recent output from the band...but there's still plenty to discuss from eras when we did like what they produced. and what's wrong with talking about what we like and don't like? we are music fans and "wannabe critics," not stones cheerleaders....

It does touch a bit of a nerve to see things on this board (and other places) turn from constructive criticism to just bashing for the sake of bashing. Thats a general comment.

I'll see your general comment and raise you one critical observation.

I got it!!!!!!!! how about this:

in select cities play a stadium show, an arena show and a club/theater show with different set lists for each!!!!!!

no way, they would never do that for us

Um. Well let's see:

we love you - they'll never play this!
factory girl - they did this in 1990
waiting on a friend - played this during the Bridges tour
i got the blues - they'll never do this!
no expectation - they did this during Licks
19th Nervous Breakdown - they did this on the Bang tour right?
Harlem Shuffle - 1989-90 tours
She's a Rainbow - played this during Voodoo, other tours?
Under My Thumb - played this on the Bang tour
Mother's Little Helper - oh god lets hope not ever
Undercover of the Night - played this too many times too long too much
I'm Free - ugh, they played this awful song when, 1995 or something
Beast of Burden - played this during the Voodoo tour, Licks?
Neighbours - played this during Licks
Mannish Boy - no comment
Emotional Rescue - ha ha! They'll never do this one either!
She's So Cold - played this on Bang
Far Away Eyes - played this on Bang
Fool To Cry - dunno, thought they played this one over a couple tours sometimes
Silver Train - now THIS would be GREAT, if they don't kill it like Sway
Sister Morphine - played this on the NS/Bridges tour
you gotta move - well, it's on a live album at least

How bout some tunes they've never done that seem reasonable?

The problem with these kind og lists is that you van go on and on because they wrote so many songs. If they would tour until they are like a hundred all songs might see the light of day because every tour they play songs they never/hardly ever or haven't played in a very long time. We all just whish they would play of those type of songs....

Cheers,
Wuudy

with all due respect, CB, I don't see alot of gratuitous bashing going on here or the other boards; i certainly don't engage in it. all music is fair game for commentary.....we're all stones fans here and are entitled to pick and choose what works for us.

We know they won't play a lot of obscure or never/hardly heard tunes before.

I guess one mystery, maybe, is will they bother with Rambler again? They've been doing it a lot it seems, I guess, since 1989. Which is great, personally. Fantastic song. And long, of course. I guess Worried About You and CYHMK almost fit that as well but they don't stand up to Rambler.

They should get rid of the percussion loop on sympathy for the devil and have another go at performing this track.

By putting more people up on stage to play the intro?

yeah, i know - but obviously that would be one of those 'be careful of what you wish for' deals....

one things for sure higher prices, shorter shows and smaller venues. The stones don't owe their fans anything, we choose to go, we choose to pay we choose to keep them viable, what we have, in essence, is our fault.
