Matt Lee is not just a Rolling Stones superfan, going to lots of Stones shows. Over the years, he has been building up the world's largest Rolling Stones memorabilia collection. Signed items, original letters, ticket stubs, hand written set list drafts by Mick and Keith, original concert posters, rare records, promo items, acetates, autographed items, backstage passes, original stage clothing, jackets, and lots more.
You simply need a lot of time to enjoy this book. Every little detail in every item as pictured, whether it is a record, a contract, or some other rare item, you most probably would never see, unless you get this book. When I got my review copy, I could hardly leave it, so much to see!
The book will be available to the public early October 2021.
From the press release:
Matt Lee has been collecting Rolling Stones memorabilia for more than two decades. He amassed so much that he had to move house; he even has his own museum dedicated to Stones memorabilia and he is the Guinness World Record holder for the largest Stones memorabilia collection. For the first time, Rolling Stones: Priceless showcases his collection, which spans all decades, and tells the story of the Stones through their memorabilia as never before.
Matt Lee's collection includes many unique, handwritten and personal items as well tickets, posters, passes, promotional items, instruments, tapes, records and clothing. All have been specially photographed for this book and are accompanied by a narrative detailing rarity and in some cases the amusing anecdotes behind how they came to be part of the collection. A regular at Stones concerts, Matt personally collects many pieces, as well as buying at auction and exchanging. Highlights of the collection include: the Stones' first ever contract, the band's first acetate, Bill Wyman's resignation letter, the first 'tongue' pin, a signed Shine a Light guitar, original 'Street Fighting Man' record sleeve, handwritten set lists from Mick and KeithÉ and thousands more.
Below just a few samles from the book.
