With the great surprises on Tuesday, including Andrea Corr on Wild Horses and Keith singing "It's A Long Way To Tipperary" with the entire crowd singing along, could it get any better?
Well, I will tell you, there were no surprises tonight. It was just the Stones, but we don't really need anything more. The crowd was even better tonight. Don't know why. May be they were here the other day as well. Or may be it was because "Start Me Up" was the opener. That one works like an "instant injection"; the crowd went wild. And You Got Me Rocking just kept the pace.
It was a fantastic crowd all the way up to "I Can't Turn You Loose". Even if this is a great song that keeps your feet moving, the crowd just stood still listening. So this was really a Stones fans crowd, and experienced one, and this was a new song, I realized. Not a Stones song. But slowly as the song went by, they appreciated it, and as the 2nd ending broke through, they were back in action like on the "real" Stones songs.
"Paint It Black" is great in the late spot, as an introduction to the final four. Just like "Start Me Up", it gets everyone up and dancing. And whenever you think they have used up all the "big" songs for the finish, Paint It Black is there as the joker song. Satisfaction and Jumping Jack Flash were both long, long and great.
So lucky these guys, getting arena shows, or in this case, the Point, almost like a Theatre show, not even a B-stage. Just the Stones at the main stage, with a smaller sized screen behind the regular stage, and a great large room for most of the fans to stand wherever you like. I like it!
