Quotetreaclefingers QuoteIrix Quotejbwelda You would have thought for a special edition they would have cleared the rights for the original photos. Why should they, when the Carnaby Red-Vinyl of 'Sticky Fingers' already had no real/working Zipper? Also if you think about it, 1000 copies @ $35? $35000 revenue. What's the profit, $20000? I wonder why they even bother...

The other thing is that stupid "under construction" inner sleeve. You would have thought for a special edition they would have cleared the rights for the original photos. Or just gone ahead with it without rights. F'em. jb

I already have at least 10 copies of the various forms of that record, including I think an orange vinyl edition, plus cds of various reissues, so in this case I decided I had enuff and declined. In same situation with exile but may have to make an exception for that one if and when. jb

It (the official release) was kind of disappointing to me as it contained several versions that I do not like as much as the original boot tracks. But I think it includes the best ever Dancin with Mr D, so overall it was worth it. If I am not mistaken it was the same version from the KBFH broadcast that became the boot "European Tour 73". Guitar in it is fantastic. jb

They just do what they want to do how they want to do it. Always have. I doubt "fans" enter the equation at all. Seriously. jb

Quote24FPS Quoteslewan QuoteIrix QuoteTaylor1 Why not ask Ringo to sit in until Charlie is better We're not allowed to mention Charlie and Ringo in the same sentence - I guess the following sentence is allowed (and maybe it's the only one): Charlie Watts is a very good drummer while Ringo Starr is not. Ridiculous. Charlie is a great drummer. Ringo is a great drummer in his

If they got Bill back, they would still need a drummer. So, typical solution in search of a problem. jb

They might surprise us all, just like Gregory Isaacs, can't count them out until its over. Could be a new drummer will cause them all to rise to the occasion. jb

QuoteJavadave Enjoyed reading that. Thanks for sharing. Makes me wonder how Burning Spear is doing, and why he doesn’t also have an Order of Merit? Winston Rodney the Burning Spear has flipped out more or less and is pretty much living the life of a hermit in New York. He has pulled the rights to distribute his music from pretty much everyone and is instead trying to do mail order only wit

Hmmm...reviews seem to be mixed, this review of the vinyl version sounds pretty negatory. jb

QuoteVoodooLounge13 I've talked to some folks in NYC this week and they are peeved by the return to masks mandate. They all agreed that they wouldn't have taken the vax in the first place if they'd had known that they would be looking at square one again, because they don't believe it's been tested enough. They only got vax'd so as to no longer have to wear a mask,

Well if they are concerned about selling tickets, they could cut their prices down to realistic levels, say 1/4 what they are now, and sell me one. but they have to be good seats, not up in the stands. 10th row, keef's side would be fine. Thank you jb

So somebody actually thinks they would be having Mick Taylor (of all people) playing Keith's guitar parts BEHIND the curtain whilst Keefster stands out there on stage and snoozes or poses? Really? Wow. jb

If you want something good from this sorta camp, get Jack and Jorma Before We Were Them (I think its called) from the Owsley Foundation. Totally great pre-Hot Tuna performance and stellar recording. That was the heart and soul of the Airplane along with Marty Balin. jb

I think it will push them to actually work on songs instead of just relying on memory and reflex. Not having Charlie on drums could add a lot of life to the band, he has reached the point where an enthusiastic drum backing is not in him, he just mostly kind of keeps time and is a physical presence more than the necessary drum backing for a vibrant band. Its hard work for a thirty year old to play

>He'll probably join them sometime along the tour and hopefully as soon as possible. He probably will not. Sounds pretty serious to me. Best and love to Charlie. Steve Jordan is the best possible stand in. He is a great drummer who knows how to support an ensemble. jb
