QuoteHairball Quotematxil Thinking of the Specials, the last time I saw them was a few years ago, without Terry Hall, in Barcelona. After about 15 a 20 minutes the electricity gave up. They re-tried after a 5 minutes break. Again an electricity failure. Another break. Re-try. Again an electricity failure. At this point the band was of course very p***** off, and understandably gave up. A pity, be

QuoteBig Al Quotematxil Cool, the Specials, very nice as an opening act. I actually at first reading thought I had read Noel Gallagher, which would have made some sense. But Liam? Terrible choice. Why? His debut album reached No.1 and he's a huge draw. Oasis were a British phenominum. He sang Wonderwall and Live Forever. That's why he's a great choice as opener. His singing

Quotesjs12 Just checking the FAQ section of the Southampton FC webpage for the Stones concert. It says: "What is the dress code? Dress code for this event is smart casual. No ripped jeans will be permitted." Be warned! So not torn and frayed then?

QuoteJah Paul Seasons in the Sun (Terry Jacks) Jacks didn't write it, but he should have never recorded it! A travesty. The original by Jacques Brel is awesome, much darker. My own most loathed song is that dirge by Gilbert O'Sullivan where he's going to top himself. Just hurry up and do it.

The Specials were still great minus Dammers, but I saw them again after Neville left and it just wasn't as good. He was missed. Then when Roddy went as well I lost interest in seeing them.

Quoteslewan Quotenobodyimportant The problem with using the trains is often that you can't get back after the show. Late night public transport is very poor in the UK. right, but there are special coaches after the UK shows, even advertised on Depends where you live, but I was speaking generally. My nearest rail station is Didcot. The only city I can get home from by train after a gi

If I was driving there and back with no hotel involved, I'd just go to the retail park. It's much more convenient and you'd be paying for parking in the city centre plus train/bus fares so deduct that from the 50 quid. They've doubled the required minimum spend since I last went, but it's still free parking really if you plan what to buy. Check out the available shops an

Quotegrzegorz67 On practicalities, where's the best place to park for this? I thought on Coventry City Centre then getting a local train out to the Ricoh or are there better options? The arena parking at the Ricoh is expensive, but there is a retail park next door with extensive parking. This is usually limited to 2 hours on show/match days BUT extended if you spend a minimum £50. A barg

QuoteRollin92 Quotethomas guitar Have a question about taking the train after the show in Cardiff Is it possible to take a train from Cardiff to London after the concert or until the next day? Thanks for help Trains to London run late from Cardiff I think. For all UK rail times go to National Rail, it has a journey planner on there. I will warn you, UK rail prices are very expensive

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteMonsoon Ragoon I have the feeling The Rolling Stones have problems now with more than 25 different songs per leg. They're too old to remember 40 or 60 songs. That's why they only play these 25. I would be surprised about other opening songs than SMU, JJF or SFTD. 2/3 of all shows since 1989 and most shows since 2005 were started with SMU or JJF. 25? You me

Quotefranzk How about opening each show with a DIFFERENT song? That would add a surprise factor. That's what I like about Springsteen shows. Every one I've been to has opened with a different song, and you never know exactly what you're going to get.

Lots, but most recently Leonard Cohen. I seriously considered going, but had a pretty full diary at the time and not much money left. On the positive side I am SO glad I saw Tom Petty last summer at Hyde Park. And I am very lucky to have seen Led Zeppelin twice. The first time I was still at school, and my mum being paranoid about me missing any education and knowing I would skive off, we

Quotecorriecas If they play Coventry May 29, will there be buses to the stadium??? jeroen When I've been to gigs there, they've had shuttle buses back to the main railway station after the show. Don't know about outward, but you can get a train from the main station to the Ricoh Arena. They are infrequent though, so check the times. Was one an hour last time I went (2016).

QuoteHealy52003 looks an amazing place tbh. Are the hotel and shopping centre connected to the stadium ??? There's a hotel and a casino in the arena complex. The shopping centre is separate. There's also a dedicated railway station, but trains are only about one an hour from Coventry centre. The arena staff were really cooperative with the pit queues - as you may know, it

Quoteodean73 So it's Coventry then Not too bad, transport not the best and parking is slightly limited from what I can remember. I've been to two Springsteen shows at the Ricoh. Apart from the arena parking (expensive), there's a huge retail park next door with ample parking which is normally limited to 2 hours. However if you spend £25 at one of the stores they let you stay

QuoteJN99 I just looked at that picture of the Croke Park locals and thought, how sad - they are all acting like old fogeys when the band that's asking to play may be made up largely of their "elders"! LOL Where's their spirit, sense of adventure, sense of rock n roll!? They've lost it along the line somewhere. Probably Daniel O'Donnell fans.
