both albums are good, but not great, both have a lot of filler and too many songs, and both are similar to a bigger bang in terms of filler and quality. including a bigger bang i think its difficult to split them, they are all very close, so im going for a draw. the highlights of voodoo lounge are brand new car love is strong i go wild and for bridges to babylon, its gunface alr

ive done this boxing thing before with albums, usually with 2 or 3, and found theres different ways to decide whos the best, you can do it by putting each song from best to worst and comparing like for like, and scoring 3, 2 or 1 depending on positions, do it for each song but all the albums available have to have the same number of songs to get a true result.and then total them and compare, or

if the stones were going to do this back up behind the stage act couldnt they have started it around 1990, and put a tape of a 1973 concert on to drown out the tinkling of the piano. we might have fallen for it then.

maybe he could have released gold painted fingernails, the ultimate freak out song and so underrated and why it was never released is a joke. its much better than anything on the beatles efforts in psychedelia which just never had the energy the stones had. he could have done more with the instrumentals which pop up on you tube a lot. citadel we love you ruby tuesday have some great in

The stones never really got the credit for the 1967 period, they got plenty of criticism instead, its a very underrated period for the stones and brians influence should never be underestimated. I think if brian had lived he would have gone on to be successful in many other areas of music and would have been a massive influence on many artists. whether eno was influenced i dont know or whether h

what a funny story, stones have never hidden the fact they have back up musicians, they even introduce them to the crowd, and all mistakes by the stones are there for us all to hear. if there is another band behind the curtain they should be sacked for not covering for the mistakes of everyone else who is on stage, if they were going to have a back up band behind the curtain wouldnt it be m

satanic majesties is a great album, very underrated and much better than the boring peppers album which is gets more credit than it deserves. also in 1967 stones had many other great songs, lets spend the night together, ruby tuesday, some great stuff on buttons album and some great outtakes and instrumentals including we love you, gold painted finger nails. amazing how in 1967 the stones w

mark chapman has been denied parole 11 times. should he still be in jail after all this time while others who have committed similar are out, cant answer that, but the law in both the uk and us dosent always get it right. if he does get out i fear for him, but he made his choice in december 1980 so hes had to live with it.

not sure if this was posted, but is it really 39 years ago yesterday that john lennon was so cowardly killed. whatever opinions we have about john he didnt deserve this, such a coward was the person who took his life just cos he couldnt handle his own problems in life.

loved highwire when it first came out, felt fresh and much better than any single on steel wheels, it was also a single with no album to back it up, so felt unique in a 1960,s sort of way, i was wondering with the tour finishing in 1990 would the stones be finished, but this single was strong and proved they still had what it takes to deliver good rock tunes. amazing to think that 28 years later

depends what a genius is, if we took all the geniuses in the world and made them swap jobs those geniuses would become a majpr eff up. cant imagine armstrong and adrin doing the stones song writing or mick and keith on apollo 11. But as musicians and song writers the stones are the top band, i think the majority of bands would choose to be like the stones than anyone else, they have the style,

on the pitch at warsaw, near centre back, where the beers were getting sold, view wasnt great but the sound was, much better than any previous concert i had been to. the opening chords of street fighting man to start the concert, the superb versions of midnight rambler and gimme shelter were my best stones live moments. such a nice warm night it was, and the beers flowed in warsaw centre after

must be a hell of a lot of missing parts if its taking that long, seems they have never been near a studio, point is, they dont want to record new stuff, if they did, they would have had an album out by now.

as much as i loved that tour, with the build up, and album as the whole experience was my first as a stones fan, i didnt like the piano tinkling much. seems the guitars often played 2nd fiddle to piano at times. loved the 2018 tour, much better, stones doing the aggressive style, and trading guitar licks superbly. if someone had said to me in 1990 that the band would be much better live

i remember in the days leading up to me buying love you live my first stones album in 1987 as a 19 year old i kept wondering how my parents and friends would react to me buying a stones album, i knew they were controversial and not always family friendly, so i would go into record shops, pick up stones albums then put them down again for a few reasons, not being aware of the songs on the album, o

ive recently got into a lot of bowie stuff, watched concerts on youtube, the concert by vote was amazing, he seems a really nice guy, always wanting to please the audience. never seen him live, big regret. one of my favourite songs is warsawa, i was in warsaw in 2017 and got into this song a few weeks after i got back, he described my experience exactly, went back to warsaw in 2018 for the sto
