She's lucky to have been so attractive in the 60s and bagged a Stone. She wouldn't have a career in music if she looked like Mama Cass back then. No one on here would give her awful records a second glance without the Jagger connection.

Good bass player, but their songs always sound like five different songs being played at the same time, and no one knows what the other members are doing. The keyboards make them sound really dated and the vocals are excruciating. Horrible lyrics too.

QuoteJordyLicks96 QuoteWorriedAboutYou You Got Me Rockin' their very worst song on record. I never understood why YGMR has gotten so much hate on this forum. I'd never shun someone for their dislike of a song but to call it their worst song on record? That's just not true at all. It's like something KISS or Poison would come up with. Just the most banal, uninteresting, bra

Hold On To Your Hat is the only filler to me on Steel Wheels, the rest is excellent and I just can't imagine the album without Continental Drift and Hard Place. Can't Be Seen is at least as good as Before They Make Me Run and features some killer guitar playing. Voodoo Lounge, though, oof. I think the only keepers are Love Is Strong and Thru and Thru, they are the real standouts on

Far fewer clunkers than Voodoo Lounge, which is just an inconsistent and unstructured album and contains some of their very worst songs, indeed with You Got Me Rockin' their very worst song on record. Steel Wheels is a more deliberate, focussed album and a much more satisfying listen.

The guitar playing on Terrifying is the last truly sublime playing on a Stones album for me. They never recorded anything as effortlessly tasteful or as atmospheric as this track again.

Very cool attitude towards bootlegs and "shit escaping", I love it when artists can still appreciate themselves from a music fan's perspective and remember that fans just want to hear everything. Lux and Ivy from The Cramps loved and encouraged bootlegs too and even used to track down their own!

Very interesting to read so many replies about Bill, not that I disagree, just that I expected more of a vote for Taylor. The worst thing about Taylor leaving was his replacement, Wood just bought nothing (or wasn't allowed to) to the band sonically and his playing was compromised - not that I dislike Wood - he was a phenomenal player in the Faces but his style is completely different in

In your opinion, whose departure impacted the band the most? Brian Jones Mick Taylor Bill Wyman If you could rewind the clock, which member would you rather was still in the Stones? For me, they lost their pop sensibilities when Brian departed, and turned into a more traditional blues/country/rock band. I think with Brian's continued influence they would have followed a more

Quotejbwelda Well then sKILLs, now I have heard everything, once again. Here I thought KISS was strictly for thirteen year old girls, or maybe basement dwelling Kabuki enthusiasts. And you know, your little attempt at character assassination kind of fits that stereotype too. So thanks for the confirmation. It doesn't take much "rock and roll credentials" (thats hilarious in and

Fell out of rotation within a few weeks for me. The execution was okay but just nothing to warrant coming back for repeated listens. Great sound and production but the material doesn't get you pumped like an original Stones album would. Sadly a bottom tier Stones release with zero longevity.

For me they peaked with Jumpin' Jack Flash - beyond that they lost the magic that Brian bought to the band. Never did like Taylor's playing and the "big four" albums mostly overrated compared to the classics from the Brian era.

Even Gene Simmons would roll his eyes at some of this garbage. I respect their ability to generate zillions of pounds of cash but this stuff is just landfill. Total waste of money.

It's a terrific song and would easily make my own personal top ten Stones tracks. There's something deeply genuine and heartfelt about Memory Motel, the song title itself is evocative before you've even got to the deeply melancholic and nostalgic lyrics. It comes from somewhere deep and painfully real - the way Mick spits out the lines "Across in Texas is the rose of San Anton

Man the greats really are are leaving us now, it really brings things into focus when you hear about such legends passing. Peter Green has always been this mythical, monolithic talent that shaped the sound of British rock music and influenced countless, endless bands in his wake. Peter was an exceptionally emotive, tasteful and distinctive player, his passing is a huge loss and I will miss his be
