About Beggars Banquet. On the Steve Hoffman site, original Cutting Master for Beggars, Bill Levenson states, that only Sympathy For Te Devil was a dedicated mono mix. The rest was folddowns. As for Let it Bleed it is 99% sure that it is a folddown of the Stereo mix. Experts have talked about this for years, but Decca started using folddowns as early as 1967 (for Satanic. In the US, that rec

Quotedrbryant It's amazing. I'm a Beatles fan, but those three Stones tracks still get played in bars, still get the crowd going at sporting events, still get people moving at parties, and still kick ass today, whereas those three Beatles tracks sound hopelessly dated. and you never hear them unless you play them yourself. strange. You're kidding, right. Dated? Not to millio

QuoteDeluxtone He did a lot more fills and varied patterns than Charlie - but that's cos their music was more diverse and gave more freedom for such expression. But he kept it basically simple like Charlie. Ringo - master of the backbeat, however. Absolutly true!

They are pretty unique. Vol. 1 is essential for the 3 UK EP's: The Rolling Stones, Five By Five (IN REMASTRED MONO as opposed to the same songs issued in Stereo on the remastered 12X5) and the Got Live If You Want It! EP. the two other boxsets is also good, but not essential IMO because it's the same versions as on THe London Years Box-Set.

Both drummers had an ENORMOUS influence on their bands. Not so much musically but more mentaly. I don't care if Ringo sang and Charlie didn't. Each band had different approaches of making a band. I have to say Ringo Starr on this subject. Simply because he was more inventive as a drummer. All bands back then used Ringo as reference. Plus he had a solid beat which always kept the b

I started buing records in the mid-90's, although my old man had all original albums. The ones i never understood and care less and less about is Emotional Rescue and Dirty Work, while I tried to like Bridges To Babylon, but it never grew on me either.

Taylor, Taylor, Taylor... I saw Mick Taylor a couple of years back. Seldom have I seen something so sad. He was drunk, played wrong and was completely out of it. If The Stones took HIM back, they would sink without a trace. He just can't cut it anymore. Sorry folks!
