Quotemidimannz I quite liked it..... Who are they? Sounds a bit country to me One Direction is one of the most popular kid bands ever! They have a huge hit "what makes you beautiful!" I like the song. It's pop and it's sweet! Ron don't fit in with them at all but it does give a whole need teenage generation some publicity about the Rolling Stones. Now Stones fan

Porky Productions was the best collection of alternate versions of Rolling Stones song in the late 1990s. I switched the extended She Was Hot to the better quality without the DJ's voice-over. The All Down the Line (acoustic) is probably best here ever due to clarity and speed corrected. Strictly Memphis is excellent quality as well as several others. 2000 Light Years and Harlem

Quotekeithpinkmoon I only have "Hot Rocks Disc 1 P25L 25047", and not have other ‘P25L CD Series’. Are Some or All other ‘P25L CD Series’ titles must have? Please give me your advice. I think you should have them all if you like having the wide-stereo mixes. It's so cool to hear all of your old friends (songs) in a different mix! I wonder if these are available for do

The later Japanese ‘P25L CD Series’ pressings of the wide-stereo MFSL (Mobil Fidelity Sound Lab) are the same mixes as West German wide-stereo London label CDs 820 Series with better sound. People hold the original 1980’s pressings of the London West German 820 CD Series’ in the highest regard for the wide-stereo mixes of Stones timeless classic hits. The original 1987 Japan MFSL P33L issues

There's been much said about the West German 'London' CDs in wide stereo of the mid 1980s. Researchers didn't keep-up with all of the newer releases of the MFSL wide Stereo Stones. The later Japanese releases were better quality such as the Hot Rocks listed below. Hot Rocks Disc 1 P25L 25047 Japan April 25, 1989 London wide-stereo MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs) mixe

The extended She Was Hot was posted without the voice over and it was better quality. There's a lot of great stuff on Porky Production's Laid in the Shade vol 1 & 2.

Interesting, "Official stuff?" This Brown Sugar and Wild Horses were officially released on the first version of Hot Rocks in 1971 by mistake. Technically, they are official but you couldn't buy them anywhere. It wouldn't hurt sales any if they were offered here. But they are official. I'd think it'd be OK to offer them here but it would technically brake the rul

From my good friend and Rolling Stones aficionado Dan Swendog. Here's excerpts from an email exchange with Dan and I: The You Tube Stones page "Happy" is from the same Saturday concert 7/12 that is on the new offficial DVD. It is just a different camera edit/alternate angles. Perhaps there are differences in the others posted. (Ain't too proud to beg, etc.) That makes th

Thanks everybody. I've been trying to hunt for the best Marquee 1971 since forever. Will you keep this thread going and give us more info on the best audio and video for this awesome 'holy grail' of Stones performances. I just love "I Got the Blues" with Bobby Keyes sax solo instead of Billy Preston's organ solo (I love Billy's too but it's cool t

1998 ACTUALLY, A LOT OF US THOUGHT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE “RUN, RUDOLPH, RUN” AT ST. LOUIS? We were gonna do it, but you know Chuck Berry charges a fortune for TV (it was a pay-per-view show). That’s why we didn’t even do “Little Queenie” because he’s just ridiculous. HOW ABOUT RELEASING “RUN, RUDOLPH, RUN” AS A CD SINGLE, BECAUSE IT’S ONLY AVAILABLE NOW ON 7-INCH VINYL? Well that’s a

Quotescottkeef my blue label promo from 78 has a mono mix on one side and stereo mix on the other. I have the commercial release on the yellow label from that year also and the stereo mixes seem to be slightly different or it could just be me... Interesting observation...hmmm...a true mono mix! Great single b/w Jimmy Cliff's "Harder They Come." Love both tracks. The Rolling

I think the best versions of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Angie" are here. Arguably, "Angie" from King Biscuit Flower Hour (Brussels Affair) could be the best. One great thing about Stars in the Sky is that it doesn't duplicate The King Biscuit material. If you like this then check out Boss Hawg's "Missing Links" which also

Written by Johnny Marks and Marvin Brodie, and most famously performed by Chuck Berry, Keith's cover of "Run Rudolph Run" was originally released on Rolling Stones Records, with a B-Side of Jimmy Cliffs "The Harder They Come". The single was re-released in 2007 by iTunes, under the Mindless Records imprint. This time the song was bundled with a previously unrelease

Notes: A great little bar band led by Mr. Wood. He surrounds himself with many familiaer names and faces and produces a fun set of tunes to kill time until the next Stones project. The track "Seven Days" was at that time an unreleased Bob Dylan tune and was a bit of a bonus. The big draw for me at the time was the art of Ron adorning not only the covers, but the i

"Gimme Some Neck", the title of Ron Wood's third solo album from 1976, refers not to any vampiric tendencies on the ace guitarist's part but rather to his exuberant attitude towards playing anything with four or more strings. Give this man enough neck and you're liable to wind up with a pair of terminally scrambled frontal lobes. Ron Wood responded to the challenge of
