I hope Stern is respectful. Will he talk about L'Wren and her suicide? There are some very delicate topics that will be very off-putting for Mick...and will he talk about some of Keith's comments in " LIFE"? If he goes there, Mick will shut him down. That will determine the tone of the interview. It will be interesting to see what Mick says about how the band is reacting to Ch

I really don't like it at all. Way too busy...the letters are so crammed together, it's hard to read. My eyes don't know where to look! Just my opinion..

As a Die-Hard " fan" for over 56 years, one of my favorite parts of the show was their final bow which I've photographed dozens of times...I've crawled over people and climbed on chairs to get the right shot...and seeing that photo of Mick, Keith & Ronnie bowing made me sob...like a dagger to my heart...piercing. Honestly, if I were going to one of these concerets, I think

Even if the Stones COULD have attended the funeral, they would NOT have been allowed to return to the States in time to rehearse properly and start the tour on time due to Covid restrictions. Anyone who thinks that Mick, Keith & Ronnie did not WANT to attend are just plain misinformed. They are planning their own UK ceremony to honor Charlie once this tour is over. I still can't believe

OK, Topi, I do recall hearing that as intro music..1972 was my very FIRST Stones concert. So it was their 1975 tour that had Copeland's " Fanfare For The Common Man" playing before they took the stage...ah, yes, the good ole days.. And Topi, you DID send me a link to a video..www.timeisonourside.com which I couldn't open. Go back & check your previous post.

Topi, thanks for trying to show me the video but when I clicked on the link it said " Video unavailable".. I replied to you in a post that said I was wrong, it was never an opening tune. As I said, it must have been a dream....but I did see it performed during the Steel Wheels Tour in 1989. A bit of a risky number for the Stones but I'd love to see more risk-taking on their part!

I was also thrilled to see Novak LOSE in the finals to Medvedev! Although I think he will be a force for some years to come, it was refreshing to see a new face win a major tournament. As for Nadal, he will be BACK! He is recovering from foot surgery but with his determination, I expect to see him in tournaments next year..I never get tired of him. Djokovic was bragging about his superior mental

I'll try to find out, Topi, but I thought I recalled hearing it as an opener! OK, I was wrong, it was never an opener..( 2000 Light Years From Home). I did the research...yes, they played it during the Steel Wheels Tour, 1989-1990, but mid-set. I must have been dreaming that it was once their opening tune...it's tough getting older! I saw a video of the Stones playing it LIVE and I th

I'm thrilled for Emma & for women's tennis. She gave the game a much needed shot in the arm! She is also so well-spoken...it's refreshing to hear young, articulate tennis players taking over the game. She is no fluke!! She has a well-rounded, all court game. I am looking forward to seeing her in the years ahead.

So, Gazza, the " left field suggestions" are the " deep cuts"...the rare gem that are added to the set list? Where does the resistance to adding more of these gems come from? Is it because Keith might have difficulty performing certain songs because of his arthritis? Many of the songs I'd love to hear are 4 chord wonders from the 60's...not hard to master...like &quo

Chuck Leavell has SOME input regarding the set list but don't lay all the blame at his feet..he is a very talented, versatile musician and would have no problem playing deeper cuts .Mick, Keith & Ronnie must have some input on the songs that go on the set list each night. It's a matter of satisfying what they imagine fans, other than us hard-core guys, need to hear...they sadly play

Dcarey, I always wondered why they rehearse 75-100 songs and yet play the very same songs each show....they're down to 21 songs now and about 2 hours & 15 minutes, varying one song on the B-stage and maybe one from the main set list..once in awhile Keith will change one from his 2-song mini-set...I understand the need to play warhorses for the folks who are seeing them for the first time

I'm not convinced that the band is experiencing any joy at this time...I think the promoters and insurance companies have them in a very nasty position right now...to think Mick, Keith & Ronnie are really looking forward to this tour is unimaginable...it is something they are forced to do or perhaps lose future tour insurance...I don't know if any of this is true but I'm thinki

For some reason, this article really hit me hard...it seemed to bring Charlie to life in ways that most other articles & tributes do not...his life off-stage that he shared with Tim and Bernard was something so special to them because Charlie was such an extraordinary human being. I wonder when I'll be able to read tributes like this one and not cry.

Charlie Robert Watts, your life has enriched mine in ways I can't begin to describe. All of my very best memories are Rolling Stone memories...your passing is not like the passing of other musicians...this is a much deeper hurt. It feels like I was dropped down into a black hole...a hole that no one can fill, after all, there will only be ONE Charlie Watts. There's a video playing in my

I live about 25 miles from where Kenny grew up. Everyone in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts has seen Kenny play over the last 40 years. Kenny is very sought-after by the biggest names in the music business, and for good reason. It thrills me that he recognized how massive Charlie was! I didn't realize Kenny was that friendly with the Stones. Thanks for posting that DMAY.

Stevie Nicks cancelled her tour, siting worries about Covid's Delta variant. I bet there will be a lot more in the next 2 weeks. Labor Day is a holiday in the States, picnics, gatherings galour....more super-spreader family fun! And the stupidity continues. Many of the States the Stones are supposed to travel to are " red states". extremely under-vaccinated and with a population of

September 17, 2005, Albany's Pepsi Arena...A very dear friend with connections to the Stones camp got me a backstage pass, the only stipulation was that I was not to engage with any member of the band should I cross their path. I agreed and went along for the tour with a lovely girl assigned to be my escort. It was interesting, seeing their rooms, the tables full of food & drink etc an

My boyfriend is a drummer, been in bands when he was a bit younger and he never thought much of Charlie's unorthodox style...I just sent him this article because it explains, in drummers terms, why Charlie was a genius at simplicity without being boring...not a " showboat" because he never felt he had to prove his worth...he was unusual as far as rock drummer are concerned...becaus

That was a really great tribute by Pete...and my first time to London was in 1986...I went to the 100 Club only to be told that I'd missed the Charlie Watts gig by one week. I was crushed! So JUMPINGKENTFLASH, you're right..that famous gig was in 1986 and included a few " all-stars!" It is small consolation to us in mourning now, however these tributes that are piling in by t

We all thought he was mending...that the surgery was a success & he would be OK...perhaps Charlie, being such a private man, wanted no one to know how very ill he really was....to say I'm devastated is a huge understatement..I know I am not alone. The only consolation for me is believing that Charlie lived a happy, satisfying life. He is NOT replaceable...it will take a very long time to

The Stones legacy won't be " diminished" ot tainted because of this...not one bit. All bands as they age lose some of their lustre, of course, but to say they'll be rated or viewed as having lost their power because of the Covid fiasco is absurd. I still think they should cancel the entire tour for safety reasons but I think there are financial/legal constraints in play that

His Majesty, for the 100th TIME, I'm not excusing bad behavior but to single out a few individuals and hold them up for examination at this point seems silly. These incidents happened 50 years ago where the Stones are concerned...NO EXCUSE but this was way before having sex with rock stars when under 18 was a big deal...hell, these " groupies" bragged about it, made plaster casts o
