If you have the time, Buffalo from 1997 would be hugely appreciated. If Syracuse 1998 is available, even better. The sound at our seats in the Carrier Dome was pretty bad (we were at the very back of the floor). So bad that for the first few songs we have to really strive to determine what was being played. By the time they got to the 2nd stage, everything sounded crisp. But if a decent reco

Other than Leeds, what is the best of the 1970 recordings?

I have all but given up on File Factory as it seems loaded with re-directs, pop ups and some possibly malicious material in the 'free' download version. It can be hard to determine what 'download' is the correct one, as some have tried to download software to my computer. Is the paid-version any better?

I have only heard bits and pieces of the Fonda, but getting something 'mastered for iTunes it seems to mean if you play it thru anything but your cheap computer speakers or earbuds the sound is tinny and thin. I would love to hear what it sounds like properly mixed and mastered for a CD release.

Thanks for the JBG and Faces posts. I have not heard a lot of true live material from either band, both of whom I think were really important (though the record buying public maybe dd not always agree).

There are lots of good rock bands out there. Unlike yesteryear when radio stations and record companies hyped and played bands, sometimes for financial reasons....you now need to seek out music. Few music fans rely on broadcast radio, record company hype or satellite radio for that matter. Chances are few people learn about new bands from the latest single they just heard in a record store, as

Lots of non-area, non-stadium shows here: Only arena show that appealed to be: Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band, playing The River, plus other hits and deep cuts But GREAT small shows: Peter Wolf Sunflower Bean (up and coming band from NYC - great trio) Charles Bradley Arcs (Dan Auerbach of Black Keys 'other' band - and much better live) Surprisingly good show: P

I love every version I have heard from 1973 and most from 1972, including your great Texas clip. The song changed a lot in 78 to be a bit more raw, kind of adding a (minor) punkish edge. But the Beacon version is just a guitar trainwreck. Keith sounds horrible and Ronnie, well...is not at his best. The best versions have Keith playing a truly hard driving rhythm like a train roaring thru

This downloaded as a single 376MB Flac. Is that correct? Thorogood was soooo much fun in 1981. We had to suffer thru Journey afterward, before the Stones got on, but Thorogood made the day a party!

Quoteduke richardson cant imagine the Stones would be blown off any stage by any band but Skynyrd was very good live.. Pick one of the openers (ACDC, Guess Who in their original lineup or even Rush) and they blew the Stones off the stage at the SARS concert in Toronto. It can happen.

I am not sure why The Hip never got huge in the US. Like fellow Canadians Spirit Of The West, and even UK bands like The Jam, maybe they were simply too good for my fellow Americans to get. I think Spirit Of The West even had a song called 'Far Too Canadian'. In any event, Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip DID successfully invade my little corner of the US, just over the Canadian bor

My only FileFactory issue has been more and more pop up ads that I am guessing lead people that click on them to adware/malware. It is stunning how much crap pops up on that site. And the download speeds for 'free' users seem to have gotten slower. I may have to re-up my paying membership.

The IEM has clear vocals and occasionally other instruments are clearly featured. The audience recordings have the guitars that are missing from the IEM, but also sound a bit distant (but still good). The circulating IEM is (I have been told) and Matrix from Japan, a remixed version is really what's needed. I have never attempted creating a Matrix, but it sounds like it may become my Summ

Wow I never heard that about Buffalo being the opener. My first child was born then, I think I may have been sleep deprived. CNE Grandstand was around still in 1994 for the Voodoo Lounge Tour. Much better venue than Rogers Center and its echoes. The 2 1989 shows were months apart. One is September at the CNE in mild weather. The other in December in Skydome (why I'm guessing it was

QuoteBluzDude QuoteMongoose Right now, the version of Blood, Sweat, and Tears (with Bo Bice on vocals) also has no original members. My two cents worth.... I always go with the "RULE OF THREE" - if you have at least three original members of the band, you can bill it as as the band. With that rule, the Stones are still the Stones..... But, the Who are no longer the Who. A
