I don't like them and see no connection between Kiss and the Rolling Stones

IORR, Rocks Off and Shidoobee are all great places for the Stones community to gather. I spend the most time here.

Dunno, Keef, if it's an option in Chicago. In Austin, the General Admission seats are $95, but the student's get it for $75 and have to produce ID at the gate.

Agree that the 6th and the 7th are pretty common, but I've never heard the 5th, other than what may be on Love You Live.

I didn't find it to be among the best of '69, but there is a certain mood. It's certainly better than Hyde Park.

People like Keith have many influences, and the influences change over time, but let's not forget some of the obvious ones, like Jimmy Reed.

Do you remember what song they were playing where Mick was standing in front of Keith as he was playing, jabbing his fist and repeating “Hit it! Hit it! Hit it” over and over? I wasn't there, so I have no idea why I'm answering, but I'll guess Satisfaction.

The monitor mix sounds very good, but it has no bass. For me, that changes the whole chemistry and I do not actually listen to those recordings...

I think it's the 7/20 show with the vocal overdubs. I've heard it was re-mixed (and possibly overdubbed) for radio.

FullTilt: I can't vouch for the accuracy, but the information on this site is consistent with what I've seen in the past. I'm not sure if the dates given are broadcast dates or performance dates. It may be they were broadcase live, in which case the recording/performance date would obviously be the same. Surely someone knows.

Well, without taking anything away from the Beatles, and regardless of whether the Stones "followed" the Beatles at any time, I think the Stones had passed the Beatles in musical and cultural significance before 1970...more like 1968 in my opinion...

I think it's an important question, too. However, my opinion doesn't matter and neither does anyone else's except bv. Why don't we ask him?
