I don't know if this subject has been discussed before, but I recently read an interview (July 17, 2009) from a magazine named Uncovered. A guy named Ernie Cefalu sort of stated that he may have been (or was) the first one who designed the Rolling Stones Tongue & Lips logo, where officially John Pasche is named (and registered) as the original designer. What confuses me is that Pasche

Quotegeoffc In an interview in the Guardian, Ginger states: "If truth be known," he continues, "I was the Stones' first drummer. We used to do the interval for Alexis Korner with Mick Jagger, who was like Korner's protege, and Brian Jones. I got on very well with Brian, so we formed a band. Then Charlie left Alexis Korner so I could join, and I got Charlie into the St

Mmmm, ran into this thread by accident. My neighbour told me, that he and his lady spend the same amount of money on a two weeks vacation to the Canaries, while me and my son only hop over to London for this one night party. Well, here you are ... my experience over the past many decades is that one Stones concert keeps me "high" for many, many weeks. If that's not value for m

QuoteMathijs I think it truly is a terrible show, but much of it is due to the sound quality. That just emphesizes each and every mistake by the guitarists, and focusses too much on Chuck. Highilghts: I find Jagger amazing on this gig, and even though it must be one of Richards' worst shows, his two solo songs are absolute highlights. Mathijs You obviously weren't there on that un

QuoteRoadster32 This concert was a myth until this recording came up. All the people who where there said it was their best show ever. Just read the reviews. Circus Krone What made it a myth was that there was no recording (well, there was one but a more than bad one) and all people could recall was only the memory on that show. And that was good because that is all what counts. It was the

Quoteotonneau If the guitars were that strong, I wonder why the show was disregarded for 4flicks? I think it is clear from Jagger's performance that he has in mind the fact that it is being recorded for potential release - that's when he cracks his voice rather than wisely save it for next time. At Olympia, I think he is simply not in such good form, but the overall performance being

Quoteotonneau A generous fan has uploaded the soundboard recording of Cirkus Krone; what a night for Jagger! I think one of the most amazing performances I've heard from him. That's how strong, Stray Cat, even tired war horses like BS: he's really SINGING and Rocking like a powerfouse. Loved it! But the guitars, dear me, what a pity - they ruin the night and I guess that's why

Why all this scary talk? I worked in the area (NY,NW,NJ, etc) over a period of five years, two seperate months each year. I had lots and lots of weekends off and went where ever I wanted and talked to loads of people of every colour and social background possible. Nobody ever thought of me be not being a local. Like Bjornulf and others sort of said, act normal (which also means no snobbish, ric

Quote71Tele Quotesuperrevvy Quotehbwriter There's more after this handful of shows - not that they will be cheap, but not like the feeding frenzy happening now - these shows are just to see if they can really do it - overpriced warm ups - don't sweat it everybody - in fact, as i have repeatedly claimed, these 4 shows will be postponed until next year, until the end of the real tour

QuoteGazza The non-appearance of Taylor was certainly disappointing as it had been all the gossip in the queue outside - didnt mar what was an enjoyable night though. I do seem to recall the Shepherds Bush show in 1999 starting pretty late and them ending it in time for an 11 pm curfew, though (they played about 95-100 minutes) Youre correct about the Astoria being open all afternoon. QuoteDoc The version I heard is that MT was late on rehearsals and therefore didn't "qualify" to perform. Concerning that show's overall performance, and having attended 4/5 club shows this summer, i'd rate Munich as my favorite, Olympia 2nd, then Utrecht and Astoria in this order but very close to each other. Ain't Too Proud To Beg was IMO the highlight of the

QuoteMathijs QuoteGrison All thru 2003 Mick had voice and health problems. Remember that the 1st Twickenham was cancelled. However the 2nd night was great. All in all Astoria was disappointing to some level. It was not Jagger's voice, but the whole set was rushed down to leave the place as soon as possible to party without the fans. Wembley two days later was of much other caliber. I tho

I would say "Hey Mick, don't worry too much about the ticket prices. I had 5 years, starting from the last London O2 concert in 1977, to save money every year to make sure I don't miss any future concerts, even if I have to fly across the Atlantic. It's all a matter of priorities". So Mick ..... get the band together and play for us (asap)!

QuoteCafaro Ive come to the conclusion that the Stones are having a joke on us. I can't possibly imagine that they would go out with a musical "whimper". Think of it. How many times have they messed with people? That is why I just have to believe that GRRRR is a joke, like the press conference/5th Avenue gig in 75. If they aren't joking and this is real well...so be
