Overall I think this is a pretty good live album. My only and one complaint (Stones fans are so hard on their band aren't they?) is Emotional Rescue. I listened to the studio version. I think they need to play the arrangement closer to the studio version than what they did. The 'oo-oo' part is way too long. The band seemingly vamps on one chord forever and it just goes on

The DVD of Zilker Pk was definite let down after the first few songs. The whole portion where the stage goes out into the audience I doubt Keith is playing at all. His hands are nowhere near where they need to be on the guitar to get a sound out of it. Very sad. I DO think his playing was stronger in early 2006 for the Rio show. That was one hot sweaty night at the beach and I thought he did

yeah, i agree despite i would love another new stones album. it's not like the old days, musicians don't earn their bread through their recorded work anymore. the internet has made music available to everyone for free. the only way is to hit the road. having a new album in stores won't make much difference about a tour. jagger knows most people don't want to hear new stuf

I've never cared much for this Cd despite I own the deluxe 2 disc version with studio and 12 mixes on the 2nd disc. It sound uninspired, the 'woohs' sound canned, as well as adding the 'paint it black you devils' is lame. The bass is nearly non-existent, they didn't include '2000 light years' on the album but did on the single. The things i do like about

I think Undercover is a great album, not so much because of hits or anything, but the dark lyrics, edgy dub style mixes, rough guitars and a great rhythm through the whole album. The big review Kammpberg gave says it all, i agree with it 100%. The album shocked me as a kid when it came out to the sexuality of the cover art to the song titles and ultimately the lyrics. Love the Stones!

I agree with you Alimente. Despite the work is great it doesn't have the stand out hit that would have propelled the album into the heights of Some Girls and Tattoo You. Not that every album has to be a huge mainstream hit as far as I'm concerned.

I was listening to the bonus disc of Some Girls today because someone on the board here was raving about it and I do think it's better than the Exile bonus mainly because the songs seem more finished and better unity between the tracks. However, I was wondering if this was the release after Some Girls, say 1979 or even 80, would this have been another chart topper as big as Some Girls?

No great loss. He put in his time during their best recording/live years. His overall input into their sound is relatively small compared to the others. They didn't let him write or sing. The bass isn't mixed very heavy on the recordings either unless Keith or someone else is playing. He's old and crotchety let him retire and hold his grudges while he still reaps the celebrity

I want a new album and have enjoyed the majority of their work. I love Keiths slightly overdriven gritty guitar with that strong backbeat that Charlie always gives. I love the snarling Jagger vocals with his tongue in cheek lewdness. I love the slippery slide guitar work that Ronnie infuses the songs as well as his ever tasteful sympathetic Strat licks along Keith's Tele. It doesn't

It's nothing new at all really. Any Stones fan knows Mick slurs and chews his words pretty good.

There really is nothing wrong with these sets it's just the fact the people who are hardcore about the stones over the years are always hoping for that rare album cut to come out. But you really have to play the crowd pleasing songs for the casual stones listeners who hear them on the radio and know the hits. personally i'd rather hear all the non-hits! but i think they are doing a g

Keith is ridiculous. To say anything over $200 and still be in the back of the arena is fair and market is complete BS. Hell, other bands at least have meet and greets for those that put that kind of money out included in the price.

After the tour, my wish would be they continue their relationship with Taylor and do the album with the Jagger, Richards, Wood, Taylor, Watts lineup. Taylor, Wood and Richards all can play bass, so that is covered, maybe have Chuck do the keys and call it a day. Throw a few originals, a few covers on it. Has anyone thought along the same lines?

I'm thrilled he's playing with the band again, where he should be, but what the chances he'll make it through the entire tour? It always seems like he is cancelling shows...can he make it through 20 gigs?

While jamming to "Some Girls" today and admiring it, there is a song on the album I'm not too keen on. For some reason "Lies" has never gotten my rocks off. It's solid and fast and rockin' but no where as good as the other fast rock tunes on the album...imho. What is your least favorite song on this classic album??

I agree James Kirk, they have outpriced their fans finally. You really have to be a corporate head to even think about seeing this band and there very well may be a lot of empty seats. But I'll be darned if I spend $600 for a seat at the other end of the joint, and pay for hotel and transportation to get the gig. Fuh-get that mess.

What's with these other websites cropping up by the tons...queenbeetickets.com, buyanyseat.com, ticketability.com?? It seems like the tickets are sucked out of ticketmaster so it shows nothing is available, then they are on these sites. I've never been so irritated and disappointed as i have been with trying to get 2 tickets for under $200 to see these guys and show my girlfriend ho

Unfortunately the guys are not what they used to be, and we as the long time fans are no longer teens remembering the day we went to the store to buy the latest stones album in 2005. at this point, i think the bulk of the fans only want to hear what they know. only the hardcore ones, perhaps on this blog really want to hear the juicy stuff, and jagger finally recognizes that. we also don'

What I like is you can't even get a ticket on Ticketmaster...so it appears most shows are 'sold out' or just a $600 seat here and there. But you go on these other rinky dink sites Stubhub, QueenBee and there are 1000s of tickets available over $250. C'mon! It's just ridiculous period. McCartney has just as much legacy and his tickets are running up to $250 tops.

I think these artists at this point in their career really don't have a lot of 'interest' to bother with the hassle of working on new music considering the majority of hardcore fans will bash it and sales for recorded work is generally low across the spectrum. It's far easier to give the majority of fans what they want, and that is to hear the hits, yet again. Personally, I

Looks like His Majesty answered your questions! But you can play SFTD at the 12th fret for the solo...no octave pedal needed unless you want to do something different from the studio version in your interpretation.

I certainly enjoyed a lot of the moments over the past 30 yrs but it had to have been a drain, especially on Jagger to carry the band most of the time. i mean, the guitar players have been undependable to say the least. they either are drunk, or on some narcotic giving a very lazy, unprofessional, uninspired performance. they can't get the chords right, play a lead, or even show up on a t

Bill walked away from the band and so did Taylor. I think in regards to their current lineup and telling the others to stay at home just wasn't going to happen just to bring these two guys in for two shows. Bill doesn't want to travel outside of Europe either which doesn't help the band when the next 2 shows were in the States. They are ex-members and not in the band thus they a

i've always liked this record and have fond memories of it when I bought it. but, the mix has always bothered me. the bass drum is virtually gone, the bass is hardly there and a lack of clarity (audio and probably mentally during the mix) doesn't help either. i wish someone would go in and do a total new remix/remaster of this album straight from the 16 tr tapes or whatever they used
