If Jagger was smart his next solo record he should hire Taylor and find the magic that they once shared when they collaborated. Taylor's studio work on many artists records over the years is quality work.

I agree Edward Rw's tone is tin and you have to try and listen to hear both guitars which I hate.Having 2 Keiths and similiar players is boring and the ancient form of weaving sells magazines and thats how Keith exlains there live sound after Taylor. I have always thought Keith is a musician right and knows whats good right, when he listens to all those shows after Taylor don,t you th

MT plays Slide in Standard Concert Tunings sometimes which is hard to do. On LAG he plays his single note solo and slide solo in standard concert tunings on LIV He is the best slide player ever and best guitar god ever and still can play today at 56.

I agree with you but life after Taylor was good to average at best and why would anyone listen to the stones live after Taylor is hard to understand since they never replaced him with a true player that could enrich the studio and live material.I listen to Handsome Girls from 1978 and I get bored so easy and then have to go back to 69,70,72.73

I think MT needs to get the recognition he deserves and if we discuss him with some threads along the way thats worth getting asked to leave the board.Even when MT was in the band Keith Richards was referred to as the lead guitarist by many rock journalists and concert reviews from 1972/73.Ryan Adams thinks Keith played the solo on Winter thats why we need to talk about his contributions dur

Holy I listened to the 1973 boot from 9/30/73 from Frankfurt Germany 2nd show and Taylor's guitar was real high in the mix and he does an amazing GS with his fluidity but here he goes wild at the end sort of like what he does on SFM at the end of that song. This might be the best GS version I have heard.Even Keith gets in is trademark penatonic licks. His tone is lean and mean. Also MT

MT did not go any futher when he left the stones is crazy he put out two records that were better musically then any stones record with the exception of keith's 2 records.1979 and A Stones Throw are great records by MT. Listen to BROKEN HANDS or TWISTED SISTER those songs rock and the stones have not rocked since he left.MT wrote a great song in Leather Jacket about you know who MJ.

Yes Taylor's work on murders crow with Joe Henry is fantastic with all his glistening solos and step accross the mountain is great.BTW Chuck Leavel plays on that record to.

Woody may have done an extended solo worth listening to from 1975 but all of Taylor's versions are timeless passages of fluidity and vibrato. As jagger sets up the song with the pharse - We are going to do one more sad song for you - Taylor does the rest. Over at www.micktaylor.net a member put a tree together and somehow put all of taylor's YCAGWYW solos from the 72/73 tour on

In our lifetime I would love if Taylor covered Moonlight Mile just him and his band and no collaboration with another artist. His guitar on the studio version is simply brilliant and his ending climatic looping ending delicate solo might be one of the greatest ending outro solos in rock. Just listen to this delicate masterpiece and his vibrato and touch are one in the same. This solo and v

Taylor on GHS Taylor's Presence on GHS GHS is a great record from the boy's 'coming down'again from the exile sessions and they explore different kinds of music. The record is not riff dominated but has a melodic feel mainly due to Taylor's presence and him collaborating with Jagger. This record is more of Taylor's sound of the stones vs how Keith wants the sto

I would rather hear many notes which in Taylor's defense is nonsense then BUM notes from the weavers. Taylor is a solist and can played around any jagger/richard chord progression that they wrote and brought into the studio.Taylor never got in the way in the studio or live. All those notes you hear are alot of times Taylor would use rapid fire hammers/Also Taylor played alot of asendin

similiar playing - I love keith but he has played the same angular chuck berry riff and pattern for 40 years in different tunings and I am bored. Are you guys and gals tired of those same notes and patterns he plays.and RW does the same thing in standard concert tunings mimicks keith and no improvisation with the 2nd guitar. The stones miss improvisation with that 2nd guitar keys and

The whole weaving concept is great for keith to give to the rock magazines and cover up for the bands lack of improvisation since Taylor left. What great licks did Ronnie ever play live any attempt at a extended solo Ronnie always hides behind his slide or pedal steel instead of playing a single note solo in front of the crowd.I understand alot has to do with Keith and always keeping Ronni

The TAYLOR FACTOR - Keith does a great job with playing all the guitars on Beggars and LIV with the exception of Brian on No Expecations and Taylor on Honky Tonk and Live with me, BTW keith plays bass on Live with me. Take the studio version of Stray Cat Blues a great effort by Keith but with Taylor on Ya Ya's the song is transformed into a killer rocker with Taylor;s lean and tona
