I get a sense that some of the negative comments are being influenced by a lot of anger about the ticket prices. I wonder if the ticket prices were much, much lower, if we would still be seeing all the negative comments about a 60 second clip from this show.

"Doom and Gloom," the newly recorded single from the band's latest greatest-hits collection, GRRR!, sounds more or less like classic Stones, albeit with modern production tweaks. But that doesn't mean that Jagger and Richards have revived their songwriting partnership quite yet. The song began as a demo that Jagger made on his own, and even the opening guitar riff turns out to

Since the top regular London ticket is 406 pounds, which is about $650, I'm guessing the $750 is just the Prudential top priced regular ticket. The London VIP is 950 pounds, which is over $1550. There's no way the Prudential VIP is the same thing for $750. I'm guessing the Prudential VIP will be at least $1600. And if it's like London, the minimum to buy is 2, so at leas

I agree that logistically and financially, it's probably very complicated bringing him back to even play a show. And I get that he quit long ago. But to the surprise of everyone after his comments since he left, he did decide for whatever reason to rehearse with them this year, and showing up to play on new music in the studio seems a lot less complicated than being a special guest or to

We get a bunch of teases that he's working with the band again, rehearsing, etc. And then they go and record two new tracks, the perfect opportunity to bring him back in for NEW recordings, and it's just Daryl in Paris. Why?

I seriously doubt anyone from the band pays much attention to the comments on their Facebook page, but the overwhelmingly negative reaction to them advertising this $750 box set on Facebook is pretty entertaining to read. My favorites so far: "I guess Jagger needs more money! Go make a f-cking record" and "Uh guys ---umm.. you do realize we don't have the same kinda $$$ that

Even though I've owned this for awhile on Blu-Ray and really liked it, went to a special screening in Chicago at a local theater tonight. Such a huge difference to see this in an actual movie theater on the big screen. Amazing.

The two versions of this came up in the car after not hearing them for awhile, such a great song. Two questions: I believe it's been discussed before, but has anyone heard the original little snippets they built this from? Nothing remotely close to it in any of the outtakes I've heard. Second, and I know this has been discussed before as well, but how low is the Stones quality con

Agree with the comments / criticism above about his live shows. The incomplete songs and starts and stops can be frustrating, but my first time seeing him was over twenty years ago, and it was the exactly the same then. He is still unbelievably good to see live, even at 74. I frankly saw no difference or degradation in his guitar playing ability from '91 to '11.

If you loved "One Day", like I did, you'll need a different set of expectations to enjoy this one. I'm really starting to like it, but not at first listen. There are no hard rockers, no big guitar riffs, very little guitars in general. It's a total homage to early 60s girl groups, wall of sound, etc. I've seen them twice in the last few years and they rocked at s

They always play "It's Only Rock & Roll" and "Jumping Jack Flash" way too fast. Wish they would take their time with those and not play like it's a race. But Sway by far was the worst and most disappointing for me. Mick just can't do that song justice the way he sings today. I know he's cautious with his voice on tour, but once in awhile I'd l

I heard an interview with Joe Elliot from Def Leppard on Sirius, and he talked how almost no one in rock today who's been around a long time can sing like they used to when they were young, with the exception of Steven Tyler and Sammy Hagar. He talked about how much he hates to sing "Photograph" now, because it has to be one of the last songs they play at a show because it kills h

He walked around the club and to the bar as usual. I didn't write the setlist, and these aren't in order, but he played a few off the new album, and Mustang Sally, Skin Deep, Strange Brew by Cream, Voodoo Chile, Mannish Boy, I just want to Make Love to you, and a bunch more. About 80 minutes or so overall. I would get there very early if you want a seat at a table. We got there ar

Caught Buddy Guy's first show of his January run last night at his Legend's bar in Chicago. 74 years old and he still just rips on the guitar. Hadn't seen him live at his club in over 10 years and he sang and played as good as ever.

I wonder how the CD will compare to the SACD from 2002. It's too bad they didn't also include a Blu-Ray version, like the Neil Young set or upcoming Tom Petty live set, so that those who already have the SACD version could get an even higher quality version on an audio Blu-Ray.

Comparing career catalog was not my point. U2 has been putting out albums for almost 30 years. So while not as extensive as the Stones, it is still a fairly extensive compared to most. The point is that they are still committed to supporting their new music when they could easily collect huge tour money and just play their older hits, especially since their latest is not a huge seller. And ju

My first U2 show ever for their opening night of the US Tour in Chicago. I have a lot of respect for them. First 4 songs right out of the gate are off their new album. They ended up playing 7 out of 11 songs from the new album when they easily could have just played their warhorses. And even though "No Line" is probably one of U2's least successful album sales wise in the US,

Just got back from seeing the New York Dolls at the Double Door in Chicago. Unbelievable show; these guys are clearly having a blast and the show was stellar. Their latest album, although not a big seller, in my opinion delivers more than A Bigger Bang, and 2 years later still gets heavy rotation in my iPod. They have a live album coming out that is available at their shows. I just picked it

Quick note on how I ordered this: I live in the US, it was actually a little bit cheaper to order this from Amazon UK, $28 with shipping, vs. as an import from Amazon US which would have been closer to $35. It took less than a week to get it with the slowest and cheaest shipping from the UK. First off, the sound is nowhere near as good as the Buried Alive CD from '79. That's a
