What is unforunate is that most of the older arenas in North America are gone now, replaced by the "generic" new arenas with multi tiers and lots of corporate suites. Great for viewing hockey/basketball and concerts but lacking the aura of the older ones. Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Forum in Montreal, Chicago Stadium, Detroit Olympia, Boston Gardens have all been replaced. MSG h

Agree with T&A. As a Canadian, I don't think Toronto is their favorite city. It's largely due to Michael Cohl living there which is why they rehearse in Toronto as well as the US VISA situation. As far as another show, I think most fans have had their Stones fix. They've played Toronto alot since 1989 and the huge SARS show wasn't even 2 years ago.

Hi T&A, I taped that FNV with Keith/Paul. It was around 1987 I believe. I have dozens of VHS tapes that I've taped over the past 20 years so I'm not sure what tape it would be on but I have it somewhere.

Bright Lights was one of the first Stones boots I bought back in the early 80's. I prefer the version if IWTBL on this compared to the version on the Singles collection. A side note, the opening guitar riff to Diddley Daddy is the same as on 19th Nervous Breakdown during the break near the end of the song.

I'd like to hear them officially release We Had It All. It would follow the recent trend of Keith doing a ballad on each album.

I saw this on the Billboard website but it was a few months ago. It is by far AC/DC's best selling CD and I'm sure it will surpass the others eventually except for The Eagles Greatest Hits. With these certifications, I believe it puts AC/DC ahead of the Stones as far as albums sold in the US. I mentioned in a different Thread recently that I purchased BIB as a new Dual Disc where o

Just heard the other day that Wonderwall was voted the number one song of all time in Britain? Not sure what poll this was from. Beating out the usual Beatles/Queen songs. I like this song alot but I wouldn't consider it number 1. I also saw their newest single entered the charts at number 1 in Britain. Haven't heard it yet.

Hi Andy JS. What exactly is "sucking corporate cock"? Is it being the first band to have a major corporation sponsor your tour (Jovan) in 1981? Have Microsoft use one of your songs to launch Windows in 1995? Have major beer companies (Budweiser and Labatts)sponsor your "comeback" tour in 1989? Have Tommy Hilfiger sponsor your 1999 tour? Play a private concert for Pepsi

There are probably a hundred cities that they could/should play. I still don't know why they've skipped Vancouver on the last tour and so far, this tour. U2 sold out two shows at GM Place a couple months ago in 7 minutes I believe, 37000 tickets. Stones could easily do that or play BC Place stadium again as they have in the past.

I like Out of Our Heads. This album showed Mick and Keith's songwriting abilities starting to take off with The Last Time, Satisfaction and Play With Fire. I also really like the cover tunes on the album with Have Mercy, Cry To Me, That's How Strong... and Good Times.

Not sure if there are any Leppard fans on this site, but I bought their new double greatest hits CD Rock of Ages. Main reason is that it was cheap $12.99 Canadian. A really good CD with all of their hits. Nice picture on the back cover of the band coming off stage at Wembley Stadium. They were one of my favorites of the British hard rock invasion of the early 80's along with Iron Maiden a

A couple weeks ago, I bought Back In Black as a dual disc. One side is the regular CD and the other side is a DVD commentary about making the album with band interviews. Pretty impressive technology. I think the major record labels will look to this format to re-release older albums and generate more sales. I certainly didn't need to buy Back In Black again, but because of the DVD comm

Cold Hearted Man was released on the French version of Powerage School Days is on the Bonfire Box set Rock In Peace is on the Australian Dirty Deeds album I believe all of the first 10 songs were officially released in Australia in the 70's. I actually thought they would have been released on the Bonfire box set several years back. I had a friend download a couple of the other songs

Hi ROUL. How long have you said this for? As far as Keith not wanting to be like Hendrix/Page, etc., I honestly don't think he could play a fast guitar solo like them. Also, the Stones aren't a hard rock band like Zeppelin, AC/DC, Van Halen, Sabbath, Purple, etc. so their style of music probably wouldn't be a good fit for a guitar solo. As far as new rock bands, I don'

I would think that anyone who's in a major band would think that they're the best r'n'r band in the world. Sure generates alot of hype and publicity by saying it, especially when Oasis has a new album/tour coming up. Also, if AC/DC can open for the Stones, trust me Oasis isn't too big! As far as Oasis bashing, I personally like the band and I think their first tw

I briefly recall this band from the 80's. Of course, Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker were previously with the Stray Cats. Didn't they (Stray Cats) open for the Stones, perhaps Europe 82? Don't have any Stones books infront of me to reference. I remember reading that the Stones were fans of their music, the 50's rockabilly style. The only song I have of PR&S is a 45 cal

I purchased the CD a couple weeks ago at Future Shop (Canada) for $11.99. I have the original CD from the mid 80's but decided to get the new remaster. When I play the CD, I notice that the tracks on the CD aren't correlated properly to the pauses between the songs. When I play track 8, If I was a Dancer, the cheering from the previous song, live Whip Comes Down, can be heard, then t

Actually, Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo are closer to Toronto than Boston (I think). As Hound Dog mentioned, hitting major cities when the weather is still okay would be a major factor. As well, geographically, it kind of makes sense to start in a corner of the country and work your way outward from there, as opposed to say, starting in St. Louis. U2 started in San Diego and worked northward fr

Because here in Canada, we get paid in Canadian dollars! Seriously, I would think that any shows in Mexico or South America would cost less than US tickets, too. As far as taking a trip to Vancouver, there's no announcement of any show (yet), although you should come here because it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world!!

I'm depressed that Canada lost, but Czech's played a great game. Obviously, with the NHL being on strike the game has a greater significance in Canada this year. I wish some of the Canadian players who declined (Lemieux, Sakic, Iginla, LeCavalier, Blake, Pronger, etc.) would have accepted the invite to play in the tourney. In North America (especially Canada), the tournament doesn

I was thinking the same thing. AC/DC should be releasing their new album in the fall and I'm sure that if they toured with the Stones, especially in Europe next summer that they could sell out stadiums everywhere (not that either band can't sell out stadiums on their own). From the looks of it, they really got along well in 03 and the SARS concert shows that they had alot of fun on st

I was really surprised no Vancouver show was announced! Local newspapers are commenting on the fact that they skipped Vancouver on the last tour and the fact that McCartney isn't playing here either. I would think that they'd be able to sell out a couple shows in Calgary as well as Seattle/Portland easily. Hopefully Vancouver is one of the final shows of the North American leg of the
