Reggae Sunsplash tour '85 - Toot's and the Maytalls, etc., at the Greek Theater in LA. There was a wild fire coming up over the hillside. The entire venue was evacuated, and the show continued the next day when the coast was clear.

27064. Re: SNL 78
I remember seeing it live with some friends, it was a disaster. We were about 16 yrs. old at the time, and this confirmed our love for the Clash. The Stones were over the hill and fried. But I'm still a huge Stones fan to this day, they have outlived all others that came before and after them.

What squeals like a pig and mooo's like a cow? Dave Matthews. Can't stand his voice or his music, he ruined another great Stones song.

I have hundreds of official and home-made tapes on cassette. They are all priceless to me, so I say keep them. I have a cassette I taped off the radio the day after John Lennon died. News reports, Beatles songs, etc. it's a time capsule in itself. Quality-wise, they all sound great, except for the ones that were exposed to severe weather. Many of my old cassettes "melted&qu

To meet your idol is one thing, but to stalk people like that is a scary thought. Lucky for you Keith didn't kick you in the balls. I've met him once, but it was completely random. He's one of the kindest people on earth.

I'm seeing Dylan again in Long Beach, CA on the 21st. Tried for Staples tickets, but no decent seats available (even the damn pre-sale). Then Long Beach was announced, with a GA section on the floor. I'll be leaning on the stage, soaking up another dose of the legend. The new album is excellent, it keeps growing and growing on me, as did Time Out Of Mind and Love and Theft. You

I saw the 1st and 3rd shows at the Hollywood Bowl. Excellent shows! Liked them much better than the recent Gilmour tour. Was lucky to see 2 WALL shows in LA, 1980.

Not really fast food...the lines are always long, but... Phillipe's in Los Angeles, the French Dip sandwich (preferrably pork). Established in 1908, they claim to have invented the French dip sandwich. When a local police officer ordered his sandwich, the cook accidentally dropped the roll into the meat broth. He liked it so much he requested the same thing the next day. I

I heard Flea refused, he was loyal to the Chili Peppers. How about guitar replacements for Mick Taylor? Besides the known ones, I recently read that Michael Schenker was considered.

I also read about Eddie providing a soundtrack to a porn movie. Nothing against porn (I like it!), but this is the bottom of the pits for Eddie. Pathetic and sad.

What upcoming concert tickets does everyone have? It's been a while since I've seen a concert, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Aug. 31, LA Forum, and then CSNY a month earlier at Hollywood Bowl. Both were exceptional! But now, I'm sitting here shaking in my boots with concert withdrawal. After reading the Stones Boston setlist, I almost soiled myself with anticipation for the rest of

There are no exceptions. Mick outside of the Stones is very miserable, starting off with Jackson 5 duet. Mick needs Keith, otherwise he's lost in my opinion.

Emotional Rescue is the armpit of the entire Stones catalogue. There are many others from the last 20 years that I can't even name, but Emotional Rescue was a complete letdown the day it was released. Also on the shit-list: Fool To Cry Indian Girl Cherry Oh Baby ( horrible rendition of a classic reggae tune)
