QuoteSimonN Hello, I saw I.H. earlier this year: he was pretty far from lame! We'll see how they are on Sunday in Manch... Cheers, Simon. Agreed. Ian is still great live. The fans' reviews are a little mixed but mostly good.

QuoteCBII...think about your parents. Should they not be allowed to continue to do what they enjoy if that's what THEY want to do?... I haven't watched the clips so I make no comment on Chuck's performance, but if he had been a surgeon for 60 years would he be allowed to carry on if his hand shook? Still enjoying what you do doesn't necessarily mean that you should.

Haven't played it yet, but the new Classic Rock has a free CD by the Dead Daisies. Members include Darryl Jones and Charley Drayton so a double Stones 'connection'.

QuoteNem QuoteStoneage I haven't read the book but from what I heard he actually wrote the book (or most of it). The amount of writing Keith did on "Life" could be fitted on a post-it note... Morrissey has this thing for writing, it's pretty much what he does, unlike Keith! So @#$%& what? I loved Life and I don't care whether Keith wrote it with his own fair hand or i

Quotereg thorpe Back with my wife in Tennessee When one day she called to me "Virgil, quick, come see, There goes Robert E. Lee!" He seems to sing there goes THE Robert E Lee and I always wondered whether it referred to the steamboat. Also my American history is poor but Robert E Lee wasn't a president was he?

Quoteduke richardson never liked hearing Robbie Robertson talk about 'we've been on the road sixteen years...' well thanks for your sacrifice Robbie, for so long... hard to even watch him during the last waltz, and I love the Band Whereas I'm quite moved by that every time. He does come over as the one who has simply had enough and wants out. The others don't seem

QuoteJimmyTheSaint Neil Diamond didn't fit at all. His performance is probably the only low point of the film. Turns out one of my favourite Dylan stories may not be true. From wiki " In his autobiography, Levon Helm was critical of the inclusion of Diamond, not discerning any musical connection to The Band. A persistent rumor claims that when Diamond came off stage he remarked to

The Faces needed Rod, he didn't need them. The same is true now. Faces records sold poorly compared to Rod's and he was successful for 5 years with them and nearly 40 without them. If they ever get back together it will be when Rod is ready. I'd love to see them together but I can't see that RS has any obligation to do so.

QuotePete66 You can find the instrumental track on the 25th Anniversary Collection of KC and the Sunshine Band (1999). Pete. KC did a vocal version too. Not as good. As for the original the story I heard was that it wasn't meant for George but the original singer (maybe it was Gwen) couldn't do it.

When we just had, or mainly used, vinyl the emphasis was on quality. Every time we bought a new hi fi it was better than the last one. CDs changed that. When they started with CDs the emphasis was still on quality, CDs were somehow 'better' but when portable CD walkmen, car CDs, mini hi fi' s, micro hi fi's etc the emphasis changed to convenience. You bought a new album

I've a 2CD Castle set in their 'that's original' line which has 1234 and Gimme Some Neck. Dated 1990. The booklet is crap and I probably haven't played it since I got so I can't speak for the quality.

I used to have lots of tour programmes from the 70s but sadly they've all been lost or destroyed. Except than I found in a dusty old box my programme from Earls Court. I can't remember another programme like this. For your money you got 2 programmes. A larger one which was just pics and an insert obviously designed for the UK tour with a potted history of 13 years of the Stones and a fe
