QuoteBrianJones1969 How would Deep Purple albums such as Burn and Stormbringer have sounded if the group actually got Mick Jagger to replace Ian Gillan, instead of future Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale? The same can be said for live renditions of Gillan-era classics like "Child in Time," "Highway Star" and "Smoke on the Water." ~Ben Sometimes I think

Quote24FPS It's the song that splits the old Stones from the new Stones. 24FPS...Absolutely. I could not agree more. IMHO JJF was the turning point when they realized they could record what THEY wanted to record, not what the record company wanted them to record. They took off from JJF and never looked back. I think JJF may have been the first rock song to be made into a rock video. Crudel

All this talk about high ticket prices takes me back to 1968 when Pinnacle Productions put on Saturday night rock & roll shows at the Shrine Exposition Hall in LA. Tickets were $3.50 at the door. There were 2 stages so one band could set up on one while another band played on the other. There were no seats...just a dance floor. And there was a projector with a blob of water and oil between 2

He was British...there were a lot of British people there. He was not tall enough to be a Rolling Stone. I was a fan and the Stones were bigger than life. W

I met Keith and Ronnie at a compound outside Montauk, Long Island NY where the Stones were rehearsing for the 1975 Tour. I was there to assist their tour photographer. When I arrived, the band was upstate in a hangar at a former AFB near Newburgh where they had set up the 'Lotus' stage. So I got drunk with one of the security guys and passed out in the first bed I could find. Later, I w

Quotemr_dja Here's hoping that everyone in attendance has a great time! And for those of us who attempt to follow along at home, let's hope Detroit's cell phone service has plenty of bandwith for our periscopers! Get All Your Ya Ya's Out is a mix of the original Ya Ya's release and the unreleased tracks to make a complete 1969 US Tour show. The set list is the same as the 2nd show, LA Forum, November 8 1969...my first Stones concert. My friend Doug Brown, who went with me that night, did it on Pro Tools. Running time: 65 mins. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBQ9NKvZ3TE

But if you insist on it towards other persons' views, I for one who love some of Pink Floyd's output (PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN, a couple of singles from 1967, MEDDLE) and do like other parts of it,

Quotejahisnotdead We Rolling Stones fans are so incredibly lucky. They're alive: Brian Jones, Ian Stewart and Bobby Keys will always be missed, but it's amazing to me that so many former and current Stones are still alive. My second favorite band is the Ramones, and every single original member is now dead. I think of that every single time I think of the Stones, and am so grateful

However, I do agree with the notion it's great to have them on tour in 2015. And maybe we'll be lucky enough to hear some new studio music. I keep my fingers crossed. I respect other's responses and
