I seem to recall that the 'problems with the throat' were a ruse because the band did not sign up to the Amsterdam show being broadcast on TV.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quote1cdog Thank you for the memories of that show RisingStone! Quite a bit that the above article does not cover well. The article is full of inaccuracies in my opinion. * The source of the opening solo on Layla. * The actual meeting between Clapton and Duane Allman. I will go with Greg Allman's story/version of the meeting. * The Rita Coolidge stuff. This

Quotebv The Ronnie Scott's event was private. No photos, just private. A family and friends event. I am happy to see they had a great time celebrating the great life of Charlie Watts, at a venue where Charlie loved to play with his Tentet, and many other events there. I think it is completely tasteless, also offending, when some ask "why was this person not there", or comments a

Quotedcba As the Beatles always sucked live and hadn't performed in front of an audience since 1966 while the Stones were into their golden era (68-72) and had just recruited MT, the answer is dead easy. The Beatles in 1966 were still screamed at so they could not hear what they were playing. Playing live in 1969 would have been a whole new experience for them as the audience actually list

I was a big fan of The Quo when I was 14-16 and then drifted away from them as they developed in to a National Institution. I went to see a Frantic Four reunion show in 2013 and was completely blown away at what a great rock band they were with the original line up. This was all down to Alan Lancaster driving the band on bass. I was so impressed I went again in 2014. RIP Alan, you were the d

I saw four of the British stadium shows in 1982 and Wembley 25.6.82 was the best by a long way IMO, probably because it was a sort of homecoming after six years. I have listened to an audience recording of this show multiple times over the years and I am really excited by this surprising, if overpriced, release.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotehopkins They sorta should be refundable. The Rolling Stones is what was contracted with the ticket sale. All the advertising prominently features Mr.Watts. It's not like a Broadway show where you could get a stand in for a character part. Now I trust that you're correct because I don't know anything about the actual legalities but it's my feeling. T

Thank you for sharing your recording. This is my favourite show of the 1978 Tour and I have listened to it frequently over the last 40 years. It is great to get a new recording.

Maybe Mick went to Wembley to test his eyesight. It is probably a lot safer testing your eyesight in a football stadium than say, driving from London to Barnard Castle which I believe is perfectly acceptable.

Quotecimaz Great concert from the In the flesh US tour. Sigma release (Definitve Oakland 1977) is worth to buy. It's a pity it wasn't officially released. They played the complete Wish you were here album. Some other concerts from that tour are also worth to look for (Frankfurt 27/01, Paris 25/02, Fort Worth, Boston, NY 02/07, Montreal). Definitely one of their best tour I have

From the BBC website Bob Dylan: 80 things you may not know about him on his 80th birthday "I was so much older then / I'm younger than that now." Bob Dylan sang those wise words at the tender age of 23, on his track My Back Pages. As he reaches his 80th birthday on Monday, we've decided to ignore the advice of the famous Dylan documentary Don't Look Back

Hey Cristiano Thank you for the heads up with the Nacho 24 hour party. I was following it most of last weekend. I consider my self a fan but lost touch a bit around the time of Tin Machine and Black Tie White Noise but I found myself appreciating this material all these years later. What a great artist he was and such a sad loss to the world.

Quotecimaz For an official release it doesn't sound very good. It's Crazy Horse, so it does not need to sound good! Only kidding but its sounds good enough to me. I have the 2xCD from the 11th with a very similar setlist but I will be all over this like a rash! "Does this sound perfect? Let's f*!k it up somehow!" Neil Young Hammersmith Odeon 1989

I'm 59 this year. My first album was the TV advertised Get Stoned in 1977. My first live show was 1982. I was aware of the band as a child and remember Brown Sugar, Angie and Fool to Cry on Top of the Pops.

I dabbled in Yes back in the day and they were ok. I saw them with the Yeggles line up in 1980 and again with Jon Anderson on the 90125 tour. I haven't listened to Yes for many years. Drama was a low point for me. I was also into Rush back in the day and came back to them earlier this year after Neil Peart's sad passing. I really appreciate their work much more now.

Mine was a double vinyl album called Reverse Blues, with a reversed picture of Keith on the front cover. I bought it at a Record Fair in Leicester in 1980. I naively asked the dealer if it was all recorded on the 1978 tour, the track list suggested it might be, and I was told it was so I happily parted with my £15. It was actually a combination of Bedspring Symphony and Out On Bail with All Down
