6/7/17- Tom Petty with Joe Walsh (SO GLAD I WENT!!!) 7/1/17- U2 and One Republic (surprisingly good opening band) 8/11/17- Kings of Leon 9/10/17- U2 and Beck (also a good opening band) Coming up next, Noel Gallagher in February! After that, who knows!

Coldplay currently have the 5th highest grossing tour of all time. They still have a North American leg ahead of them of over 20 shows (a mix of arenas and stadiums), and 5 shows in Brazil and Argentina to end things. They'll easily overtake AC/DC and Roger Waters for the #3 spot. I don't think they'll beat the Stones record, but they probably could if they were willing to

I just checked (like a loser, since I'm not even going) and the arena's schedule is pretty wide open next week until the 28th, looks like they could take their pick.

The U2 360 Tour and the Bigger Bang Tour were roughly the same in length, just a little over 2 years long. BUT, both tours had large portions that had to be postponed for an entire year, due to health concerns (Bono's back surgery, Keith falling out of tree). Had this not happened, 360 wouldn't have extended into 2011, and ABB wouldn't have extended into 2007.

Tokyo Dome is a stadium, or at least stadium sized venue. The Stones played to a total of 147,493 over 3 nights in 2014, which equates to 49,164 per show.

T-Mobile Arena Oct 19- Rolling Stones Oct 21- Keith Urbana Oct 22- Rolling Stones (?) Not sure if this has been discussed already. Is there a precedence to this? Since they seem to need at least 2 off days between gigs, even if it's in the same venue, that means they'll have to play one show, tear down the stage, let Keith Urban do his show, and then set back up again and play i

I'm a lifelong Tom Petty fan, so I may be a little biased. I think "2" is even better than their first album (which was good but had some filler tracks in there). I'm wrestling with going to see them in Cincinnati. If it was at a regular venue I'd already have my ticket, but I'm not big on festivals. However, The Killers play right after Mudcrutch and they'r

Mick got the b-stage idea from seeing U2 on the Zoo TV tour in 92-93. That's the first time I can recall a band using a b-stage, when they'd go out into the audience mid-way through the show and do a 3 song unplugged acoustic set.

Quotemnewman505 QuoteOlly QuoteChrisG PLUS three more shows for a total of 12 Which three have I missed? I came up with 16 shows in the Boston metro area in the past 25 years. Foxboro is where the Patriots play, it's close enough. 11 within the city limits. My additions in bold. The Stones clearly love to play in Boston, no doubt, Bang got 4 shows, Licks got all three venues sizes - small,

Bill is absolutely disgusting for this, no 2 ways about it. I don't care how old she looked, or how in love he was, the point is she was a little CHILD and he was a 50 year old man! I'm 33 and I when I see a 14 year old girls I just consider them to be children, and not one sexual thought pops into my mind.

They only play 19 songs at a typical Stones show. The Stones have more "greatest hits" than will fit in a 19 song show. I even get kind of annoyed when they do a cover; there's are hundreds of great Stones songs that get left on the shelf. There's no room for solo songs. In the case of the Eagles, they only had 6 full studio albums (7 if you count the new one, which nobod

It's so weird, I just went on a big Eagles kick last week. I can't remember the last time I actively listened to the Eagles, besides just hearing the hits on the radio. I listened to full albums, live bootlegs, deep cuts, songs sung by Felder, Leadon, etc. I'm very shocked and saddened by this, I was a huge fan of Glenn and the Eagles.

I'm usually just a lurker around these parts, but I have a little nugget I'd like to pass on. On the Dave Matthews Band forum antsmarching.org, there was reported a Stones rumor for this summer at the Watkins Glen racecourse, in New York state. The rumor states that DMB, Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen will all play concerts at the venue this summer. Source is somebody who

Pass. If it were the original 5, or even the 5 that recorded Use your Illusion albums (if Adler is indeed a liability) then I'd be interested. This is just a pathetic last ditch cash grab for 2 guys who have no more cards to play. I don't mind bands touring for the money. I was well aware that the Police Tour was a cash grab when I bought my ticket. But I still enjoyed the hell

Coldplay are selling out stadiums in South America and Europe, and adding second shows to meet demand (or 4 at Wembley Stadium). The very same stadiums the Stones play. I assume that their North American Tour will go onsale right after the Super Bowl to ensure a massive rush for tickets. Like them or not, they have arrived, they are the biggest band of their generation. I had just graduate

In my mind, he's more a member of the band than Ronnie Wood. I don't give a shit how long he's been in the band, or that he was never "officially" named a band member. He's put way more into being a functional member of this band than Ronnie ever did. Chuck gets too much shit, and I'm kind of tired of it. Without him, or somebody like him, this band would no

Not the final concert, tomorrow is the rescheduled one from Sunday, which was postponed because an off-duty police officer brought a gun into the venue. Local, onsite security let him through, but then people higher up caught wind of the situation, and it just escalated from there. I saw this current U2 tour in Chicago, and I thought it was great. The only bad part was Bono's terrible

I will never understand why U2 haters feel the need to start threads, make Facebook/Twitter posts, or write articles about their hatred. It's like they're absolutely mystified that U2 are a popular band, and they're trying to convert everyone to hate them. I'm a HUGE U2 fan, have been for 20 years. Love POP, and Zoprops is my favorite album. Loved ATYCLB, although I th

I'm not complaining at all. I never expected Keith or the Stones to still be touring into their 70s. At this point I'm just thankful for anything and everything we get. I was simply stating the fact that Keith is probably NOT up to the challenge of fronting a band at this age and ability. He's still got some chops, as he proved again this past summer when I saw him. Keith cannot front a band for a full length show. Love the man, but he's barely keeping up during the Stones concerts. I witnessed it firsthand in Columbus. I'm a huge Stones fan, and I've always been "Team Keith" for many years. But the guy is just too inconsistent these days. Yes, he made a good solo album, but in the studio you can touch things up as much as you w

Bono was meeting with world leaders everywhere when he was heavily involved in various African charities. He's still involved, but he's no longer the figurehead for these causes. Bono meeting with Bush means nothing. He also has a friendly relationship with Bill Clinton. To criticize him for having a meeting with Bush is ridiculous, his ultimate goal was to try to HELP STARVING, DYI

QuoteChris Fountain Once again we have site line issues.I will only give one example; Peru's national stadium has a soccer field. , which obscures the fans enjoyment. This crap must stop. Play clubs or arenas only. Am I asking too much? Yes, you are asking too much, sadly. In order for the Stones to come to Peru, they're going to want to make as much money as possible. Which means

I also saw the Police Reunion tour in Columbus. I thought it was a really good show, but they were obviously just doing it for a cash grab. It was Sting's Ace in the Hole, and for the other 2 guys, a lifeline they'd be clinging to for years. And fair enough, it became the 3rd or 4th highest grossing tour, behind the Stones and U2. Meh, if the original GnR lineup got back togethe

They do have a keyboardist who remains unseen, but the band have acknowledged him by saying something like "Terry Lawless on keyboards, in the underworld". If it's a song that has a very prominent keyboard part, like say "New Years Day", the Edge plays that. It's just the more underlying stuff the extra guy does. They also play to backing loops as well. Edge surely can sing. He has a more technically proficient voice than Bono, but he doesn't have Bono's power or emotion. I'm surprised they don't do a spot every night where Edge takes lead vocals so that Bono can take a break, but he doesn't seem to need one. The intermission doesn't really feel like a pause in the show. I saw them in Chicago. U2 finished

The single remix of "Please" is the best thing on POP. The live version of "Please" is even better! Saw U2 in Chicago on July 2nd. I've seen them 11 times since 1997. If that wasn't the best U2 show I've ever seen, it's definitely in the top 3. My only regret is that I didn't attend 2 shows in Chicago. I hope they come to Ohio next year!
