Keith's coolest era in terms of image was late 70'/early 80s. Don't know if it's a coincidence that this is also my favorite era of his guitar playing. In regards to image though: Before '78 he seemed too high and just out of it. Since '89 he's been trying a bit too hard. Keith from '78-'83 was just boss.

Good albeit very sloppy performance. My favorite version of "Star Star" has to go to the Love You Live version.

Quotepeoplewitheyes I´d never heard that early take of ATWD before, that´s some good listening. Are there more (good audio quality) outtakes etc from Undercover? Are they compiled on a bootleg somewhere? (link, please! ) There's a bunch. Great outtakes of "She Was Hot","Tie You Up", and "Too Tough". The unreleased "Tried To Talk her Into It" that w

I like the song quite a bit--it's a fun song. Undercover, as a whole, is quite a dark album; we get a break from that with All The Way Down. Jagger delivers it in a way only he could, the lyrics are great and chorus is really catchy. I also really like the outtake of this song found on the "Chainsaw" bootleg, with the guitars way more up front.

Great song. I prefer the extended version that runs 6:18 with a couple extra verses and a longer outro

Quote24FPS QuoteAquamarine Quote71Tele QuoteBrstonesfan Has Keith been able to play one inspiring solo? I do not like the shiny jacket he is wearing. Really looks like an old mans windbreaker. Maybe Keith's solos haven't been great, but his rhythm playing is sounding better than it has in years, in my opinion. I think playing with Taylor is bringing out the best in Keith and Ronnie.

Aside from the fact that there have been some cringe-worthy Keith moments, the band seems to be on an absolute roll right now. That Midnight Rambler was easily the best of the 50 & Counting tour/14 On Fire tour, and the Street Fighting Man was fantastic as well. Jagger seems to have some fire underneath his vocals for the first time in a while, and Ronnie sounds great. You can tell having Mic

I would love to see a full release of the '82 Leeds concert. One could argue that it was the last "real" Stones show. The last time they played with so much fire and passion (especially Keith). It was really also the last time the Stones relied on the performances of the five main members as opposed to relying too much on Chuck Leavell, back-up singers, and a huge brass section, wh

Anyone have videos of Brown Sugar and Satisfaction from the last show at the Tokyo Dome? Heard they were great performances but I can't find any vids.

The studio version is nice, but the performance at Leeds in '82 absolutely slaughters it, IMO. It's played at a frantic pace and Keith is totally locked in, playing possibly the fastest solo I've ever heard him do.
