Stevie Ray Vaughan? You have got to be kidding. Anyway, my list of huge bands I simply couldn't care for includes (but not limited to): - The Eagles - Red Hot Chilli Peppers - U2 - The Black Keys (since they ditched the 2-piece blues) - Metallica - Mumford & Sons A lot of people listing Bruce. He is one of my absolute favourites. I wonder if people listen to a lot of h

It's not just the reduced price tickets to look out for ... they release seats which I think are genuinely worth the $625 price, especially if after a single. I just pulled up Row 2 in Loge 13 for Wed ... this is one of the best seats in the house. I think even better than being in the tongue pit. I bought a similar seat a few hours before Chicago 3, but in Row 9. It was an amazing spo

I'm sure most people would know Street Fighting Man. I don't know what the crowd reaction was at the show that was played? This list looks very approximate, but anyway: It would seem Some Girls and Tattoo You would actually be their most popular regular albums in the US. And they have actually never sold that many records (per album, anyway) in the scheme of things. Let&

QuoteRokyfan I don't know. Sway is on Sticky Fingers. The idea that there are masses of fans at a Stones show unfamiliar with Sticky Fingers? Is that true, it seems bizarre to me. And to shell out the bucks for pit tickets but not to know the Sticky Fingers LP. Am I that out of touch for thinking that is weird? When they played Sway and Live With Me at Chicago 3, barely anybody in the

I was just looking at the list of "world's most powerful celebrities" on Forbes.com If we take the female "singers", and assuming that Adele joins them in Hyde Park, then there is still Rihanna, Beyonce and Britney Spears to go before Jagger has completed the top 7. He is only just over halfway there. Much work to be done, Sir Mick.

Quoteflacnvinyl James Taylor, Judy Collins, Kris Kristofferson, Stevie Nicks, Jon Bon Jovi, Melissa Etheridge, Ryan Adams... Am I the only one who doesn't care about any of these musicians or their opinions?? Dolly Parton and Steven Tyler are the flukes in these quotes. Ryan Adams has released many fine albums, and is a very well respected songwriter. Also Kris K ... if he's good

I think it's depressing that some people say music today is lousy, as if that is a fact. If anything, there is as much quality out there as ever. You just have to work harder to find it. I was born in 1980, but it seems the popular bands in the 60s/70s were actually the best bands? Or at least you had to be very good to become popular. Completely different now. If a band wants to mak

So the exaggerated outrage rolls on. As many have pointed out ... it is just one song. Which is still a Rolling Stones song (at least with the women which cause this outrage). Which is usually no worse than if they had done it without the guest. And provides some nice eye candy. Some might argue it is better than getting some old blues cat to rehash some boring standard blues cover. By

The official video for the performance is up on the Stones youtube channel. I'm waiting for the grumpy whingers to start complaining about the camera mounted on Keith's guitar during As Tears Go By. How dare they pull such a cheesy and lame stunt, would never have happened in 1928.

She's a pretty young thing with a hot ass. The band enjoyed having said hot ass on the stage. She performed well enough. The song choice was a nice surprise. All works fine for me. People who are outraged really need to lighten up.

Just got back to my hotel, superlatives can't describe the show. I'm going to say ... Taylor Swift's ass and Tears Go By is better than any blues cover they could have done with Buddy Guy. I honestly think she did make the show better, as they played a great surprising song they otherwise would not have played. After 2 dud 85s, for my last show I decided to buy a $600 ticket

I wonder if people have listened to her music as well. I know I haven't really apart from a few snippets here and there, but I'm not bagging her. Her last album has a critics average of 77% on Metacritic. Not that such a thing is gospel, but it would basically indicate she is OK. Her current tour seems to be getting rave reviews. So she fits into the pop genre, not rock n roll. At l

I don't mind the probability it means no cover song. It's great having an old bluesman, but to be honest I'd rather a Stones song in place of the blues standard they would probably play. I saw Sheryl Crow and Katy Perry at the 2 shows I've been to. Would have preferred them not to be there, but they didn't ruin the show or anything. Far from it. Swift will be the same.

I voted for Sway. I don't care if they've played it before on tour, I want to see them play it live in person. It's been on the ballot for all 3 shows that I decided to go to, but only one more chance to see it.

Quotestonehearted They needn't have seen it, as it turns out. Now that people attending the show know days in advance who Friday's guest will be, when they do their online research and Google "Buddy Guy Rolling Stones", Champagne and Reefer comes up at the top of the list with a YouTube clip. In fact, 4 of the 5 results for video on Google Page 1 are C&R. Don

Please be Sway, with Mick T again. How can anybody want anything else?! But has it not already "won" this vote before? If not Sway, then I hope Shine A Light. It's been on the ballot a few times, so maybe they are looking to play it. I personally don't care at all for any of the other songs.

QuoteBungo Quoteflashhh I think the RO performance was crap. Jaggers voice is old and he cant do justice to such a great song. Frankly, it baffles me that so many people think they sound so good, especially people who, like me, have seen them many times going back to the early 70s. Will no one admit that KR and RW simply dont play as well as they used to? That Jagger looks silly and sounds even

It is ridiculous for people who "aren't going to go to any shows" to come and bag the performances based on crappy YouTube videos. Deciding you can review the band from YouTube is worthy of head examination. I went to Vegas show, and the band was magnificent. Jagger sounded amazing, Charlie was his usual fine self, and the guitars were brilliant. Every video I have seen soun

Quotertr QuoteLSTNT QuoteJumpinJackOLantern QuoteLSTNT Very disappointing if they are down to 21 songs. I was hoping that as the tour progressed the boys would be firing on all cylinders. But with the comments of the last show and now down two songs this does not bode well for Hyde Park. They might be lucky to get a 15 or 16 song set list. I'm sure everyone will say what a great show it was

To be honest, dropping One More Shot might even make for a better show. Quality over quantity. Less of a lull and more flow to the show/atmosphere. Obviously it would be nice to replace it with another song, but I couldn't give a stuff if they don't play One More Shot.

Same bill as 1969 ... so it would probably be BB King or Chuck Berry? Doubt it would be Tina Turner.

They might have to take the stage down again after show 2. If the Blackhawks win Game 7, they'll probably be playing Game 1 of the conference finals on Sat/Sun.

What they should do is each night play one of IORR/YGMR and one of D&G/OMS. I'd prefer they ditch all 4 completely, but there is no chance of that happening. Alternate them from show to show, so they are still playing all of these songs regularly through the whole tour. This would then result in 5 slots for other songs. One could go to to the ballad (e.g. Angie or Wild Horses). One

Mathijs ... maybe you have a different definition of hearing damage/loss? The ringing in ears after a concert, even if it goes away, IS permanent hearing damage. Sorry, but I don't think you should keep stating that damage only occurs from extended exposure. I know from personal experience that you can suffer permanent hearing damage from a single concert. Also, as far as your 103 dB l

Thanks for the advice Shug. Though even if I get a proper hearing test, I'm not sure what help it would be? I'm sure it would show some hearing loss, as you suggest ... but once the damage is done, it can't be undone, can it? As long as I continue to protect my ears as much as I can for the future, I'm not sure what else I can do.

QuoteMathijs Hearing damage only occurs at extremely high levels which are not achieved at any concert, or prolonged exposure to high levels, whereby prolonged exposure is hours per day over months or even years. At today's concer volume levels there is no danger of hearing damage unless you put your head inside the Pa's speaker cabinet. Mathijs As someone has said, this is co

I'd hope for Shine A Light if I was going to these shows. Street Fighting Man would be great as well. I often wonder why it isn't part of their regular warhorse part of the show. Everyone knows this song don't they? If they replaced Miss You with Street Fighting Man, the average fan wouldn't give a shit, and the hardcore fan would probably be much happier.
