Come on people, think of the pre-2012 Stones wish list, that was discussed here so often and think of what they have done since then. Another world tour, more from the vaults releases, films, an exhibition.. and now, as many people wished for back then, they are likely to release an album full of blues covers, coming full circle to their own roots, apart from the fact that they play the blues ju

If they would tap into the playfulness of their "Watching the River flow" it wouldn't matter who brought what into the studio or where they did separate overdubs, I think. Dooptidoom, doop doop

I understand that they explore these options, but I think releasing the Blues stuff online or on Itunes does not make much sense to me. The people really dying to hear some bluesy Stones tunes, or Stones-made cover versions of Blues classics are most likely not the demographic that turns to Itunes and Online-Streams first. If they intend to release the Blues stuff it would make sense to relea

This is truly catastrophic. It will weaken Britain significantly and is a serious blow to the European project as a whole. Flawed as the EU might be, it is the best of all bad ideas to bring peace to our continent. We don't live in the early 20th century anymore, the Empire is long gone and anyone who thinks that one nation alone is strong enough to stand its ground in the big questions of o

When watching "Sweet Summer Sun" for the first time I noticed that during "Start me up", the camera obviously flew over the crowd and it got me sitting on my friend's back and pointing my fingers to the air while I was going beserk to see the Stones again

There are plenty of examples out there, that picked up 60/70s music and made it sound both classic and contemporary. Especially when it comes to Soul, people like Nick Waterhouse, Charles Bradley and many others have taken their genres out of the dustbin and transfered it to today's music scene. There are other examples in the Blues world, and also Projects like Marsalis/Clapton and some of

I think Jack White would bring a (re-)new)ed) artistic ambition to the project and both Mick and Keith clearly respect him artistically, which would make things easier. I remember White saying in an interview a couple of years ago that he would love for the Stones to focus on their blues roots in any new album and and that he would love to produce them. So there's that. Without kniwing m

Think about it this way: Just as Keith likes to "pass things on", this is ALSO likely to turn on a whole NEW audience to the rolling Stones. Well done Mick! Also, Mick could do worse than sing the Stones signature tune and perform it alongside one of today's popular music biggest stars. I haven't to a tone of her music, but to preserve the Stones legacy this is not a bad m

QuoteRockingLonestar Quotematxil Not a very interesting article in the Guardian, but one thing caught my attention: "Earlier this year, Mick Jagger hinted that the Stones had new material for a potential album. “It would be very nice and I’ve got a lot of new songs and songs I’ve written over the last couple of years,” he said. “I’ve done really good demos for all of them, which I wo

What I have always wondered when "Mick's camp" or "Keith's" camp was used in any iorr post in previous threads is how far these notions have led to being "Institutionalized" within the Stones organization or with respect to all the people involved with the band on a regular basis. I also got this sense from Keith's book where he tells some examples

I'm pretty sure it would stay in the Top 10 for at least a month. Especially in many Western European countries as well as the US, there is a huge market of Stones fans, within their generation and younger, who would buy "the new Stones" Album. That doesn't necessarily mean, that it will become a Johnny Cash-like piece of late art that will stand out to their earlier work in

hmm.. given the fact that Keith would not put out his Solo Record in a time when the Stones are working, I guess the chances of a new Stones Album might have dropped a bit? This is especially true, if he indeed goes out to do some "roadwork" as he puts it. There will undoubtedly be some heavy publicity and respective media appereances at least in September. If Keith goes out to Tour in

Hmm, the concert idea doesn't really convince me, yet, why give a Concert a special name? If they were to play in UK maybe it's a string of little gigs, but that doesn't strike me as very likely. A Museum maybe more like it, given both a possible location in London as well as the whole name of it. Also, Stonesism was advertised with memorable lyric-snippets, maybe it is a web
