QuoteMisterDDDD The man, whom I've got the proper amount of respect for, being a founding and longtime member of THE ROLLING STONES, quit the band. His position has been filled. Coming back and doing anything more than a couple numbers on the 50th tour would have been unfair, and to criticize shows a lack of class. Mick Taylor clearly showed the right attitude, graciousness, and talent

Quotestonesrule The fact is that Bill was the bass player on the majority of great Stones recordings and concert performances. In retrospect, perhaps the Stones should have simply asked him to appear in London last December and simply introduced him. No bass playing required. Keeping it to two songs was a slap in the face...like he was being given a favor. If you didn't see the Stones

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotestonesrule CrumblingMice, ..."a little ungrateful" It seems to me that both you and Mick have chosen your words re Bill very badly. AND if Keith is such a great peacemaker, he might think about stepping up and showing a little further respect for Bill Wyman. As Bill did for him year in and year out in KR's years as a junkie. By accepting to play

Quotecrumbling_mice Bill Wyman is becoming tiresome with all his bleating of late. He got into the band purely on the strength of having a decent amp. They kept him in the band throughout the 60's, 70's and 80's...There were many better bass players they could have used, but they stuck with Bill - he was by then a Stone and the loyalty was there. It was his choice to walk away and

Quotebv Everyone who saw the shows last year when Bill was on stage should have seen the background of these statements. While Bill was himself simply being there, not really doing any strong connections with the crowd, Mick Taylor was over-excited. At the first show Mick Taylor was like a kid in a toy store, simply too excited. After that he was simply a big smile and a warm welcome. That is w

Absolutely agree, although, Bill could have told Mick what he wanted instead of going to the press. QuotesanQ Bill is a fantastic bass player. I wish they did a real reunion tour with Bill. Have you ever listened closely to his bass playing? He's incredible! Listen to Miss You from London 1982 (its on youtube). He plays so much stuff on that song. Truly brilliant. Bill is the most underrated bassist. Start Me Up would never have been as good if it wasn't for Bill's bassline. It&#

Quotecrumbling_mice It always makes me laugh on this forum when people lay into Keith...yes he comes up with the same corny lines everytime he's interviewed, but that is Keith - the same guy who co-wrote all the songs which made you love them and brought you to this very forum. I having a feeling that if you had done what Keith had in terms of alcohol, drugs. diseases, non stop touring,no mo

Quote24FPS "He's a stubborn old bugger," Richards says. I like that. You can hear a begrudging affection in it. I guess he's learned to respect, or at least feel bemusement as Bill stands up for himself and goes his own way. +1 I reckon he respects him, in all fairness in Life he does compliment his bass playing saying that "Bill is an incredible bass player. Interestingly, my ex-mining grandfather has been talking about this day all my life but he was very reserved today just saying 'she was a worthy opponent, that she was indeed'. Unless you live in the UK you really can not begin to understand just how much of a divisive a character she was. I think we should be respectful, she is human after all, but at the same time people shouldn

He gave darryl a hug on the first night of the 02 when Bill left the stage. Bill doesn't have a problem with Darryl, Bill has accepted that he is no longer a Stone. Its Jagger who Bill has a problem with and tbh so do most people who have met Mick.

Bill Wyman on love, marriage and being the Rolling Stones' book keeper The qualities that made Bill Wyman ‘the boring one’ in the Rolling Stones have served him well in his other role – as the group’s archivist. But his new scrapbook is far from dull, finds Nigel Farndale. Stones Photo Session with Peter Webb, July 1969 Stones Photo Session with Peter Webb, July 1969 Photo: Peter Webb Ni

QuoteTonyz 'ello, all! I just signed up to this forum, but I've been using it to get info on the Stones since the five shows last year. Anyways, The Rolling Stones have been the one band that has been at the top of my wish list for years. I've dreamed about seeing them live. And after a painstaking wait, I got tickets to see 'em in Toronto. Still can't believe it.

Quotesteini Who believes that Bill was not allowed to rehearse, soundcheck or whatever? No way the Stones would take a chance like that or act like that. He was given a rehearsal but only one. His beef wasn't with the one rehearsal but the fact that he wasn't told until last minute what he'd be playing on or given any say in the matter. I can believe the Stones wouldn't sou

QuoteTeddyB1018 i had it on excellent authority that Bill was at the New Jersey rehearsals and filming session, not merely in London. The Stones were not at all thrilled with his attitude (I took this to mean Mick and Keith both, I don't know about Charlie). It was decided that taking Bill on in any serious fashion was going to be a pain in the ass. I believe this is why he was n

It seems that Keith is now the only Stone these days who displays any affection toward their former bass player Don't forget Ronnie he gets on well with Bill but otherwise your absolutely correct - Bill and the Stones will never do anything with each other again. I think it genuinely hurt Bill (hence his statements to the press) that after 30 years service all he got was 10 minutes stage
