QuoteSuperC I, unfortunately, was in attendance for the positively dreadful "As Tears Go By" Duet in Chicago. MJ was fine. TS - Not so much. It was painful to sit through. Shockingly bad. The turn at Satisfaction had nowhere to go but up by comparison. While not a big fan of RS related duets, if they work, well, ok. When they don't, man, they don't. Tears was squarely

Positively dreadful. By far and away the poorest effort in their history. From the amazingly bad cover to the "music". At this point I almost gave up. Thankfully, Keith came out with Talk is Cheap a bit later to bring me back from the dark side.

Horrible song. Overproduced 80's junk with the ok intro the only redeeming feature - barely.

Post TY, next to Pretty Beat Up, favorite 80's/90's Stones song.

Perhaps the best tune post TY to present. Great version on one of Ronnie's live Cds. Great Wood era number - love it!

Neighbours and Black Limo - pure filler although N is far better than BL, which is a complete throw-away.

I've tried. After GS, and maybe Sliver, I usually move on to BB, EOMS, a Bootleg, GHS, B&B, or pre - 69 stuff, etc. I have a long drive next week and determined to listen from start to finish in transit. Ill consider it a mission.......

I never really thought about it until looking at this post, but it just kind of hit me that I never listen to this "Big 4" album. I mean never. I listen to a lot of Stones music, especially 65-74, but not Let It Bleed? Live versions of GS, MR, YCAGWYW - sure. But the studio stuff other than GS, never. Even stranger, I'd estimate I have listened to the very mediocre to very bad

Why wasn't this finished/polished and released. Absolutely killer tune. I never understood how such a great song was left in limbo?!?

LYL - far too many overdub to be truly indicative of the bands mid-late 70s sound.

Loved it when it came out but always thought the sound was lacking - a bit "dulled". Don't listen much to SG now. The real gem resulting out of the album is the Handsome Girls boot which has the energy, crispness that was a little lacking in the albums production.

Roundhouse, followed very closely by Brussels. YaYa's 3rd. Roundhouse has the best versions of MR, HTW & DF.

I've been following the IORR board for a number of years and always fascinated by the Wood - Taylor discussions. Been there from the beginning 50 years ago, have just about every RS release (studio and bootleg), and seen them in concert numerous times over the years. With that pre-amble, here goes............ My benchmark when looking at each guitarists impact and in light of the vas

Miss You, Start Me Up, Angie, Live With Me (I know that it's not a staple but the versions of the past 20 plus years are dreadful), I could do without at this point.
