Quote71Tele There are two acoustics on this track: The picking on what sounds like a classical guitar and a strummed acoustic. Did Keith play both parts? mmmh never thought about it and couldn`t find anything on Nico`s site. There is an interesting mention in Martin Elliott`s Book Complete Recording Sessions: The britisn duo Twice As Much had a charts hit with Sittin On A Fence copying the

QuoteDandelionPowderman Flashpoint sounds great. It's Miss You that is the most bitter pill to swallow because of Clifford's "harp". Other than that he's as good as MIA. And the very very most bitter pill is Clifford`s harp on Just Wanna Make Love To You ( Highwire maxi vinyl)... And VL on vinyl sounds just fat (with a decent system of course). Gave it a listen ag

QuoteRJOY ...What is "Rocks off"? Not an official release, or is it? I only ever heard of LSTNT... ROCKS OFF was the official name in Germany. It was a big thing btw. Posters in the whole city (Berlin), the movie played in the biggest cinema for more then 2 weeks. Something what doesn`t happen anymore. Seeing it on the biggest screens with a super sound system was a thrill at the ti

QuoteBroomWagon More offensive style? 240 minutes without a goal, Netherlands vs. Costa Rica and Argentina. Well not in these games but in general Holland has an offensive style for decades. But of course it depends on the teams they are playing against. You can`t play just offensive when you playing the world top teams. You are out quickly. The tough thing with Argentina is to score agains

That would be a poor idea and would give me a very bad feeling. That`s for bands who haven`t any ideas anymore and need some money. Or doin it with classical orchestras ... arrrggh !! Tom

Congrats to Argentina ! Netherlands vs Germany would have been a more attractive game cause Holland has a more offense style. With Argentina it will be a very tough and close game. Argentina has such a strong defense it is hard to score. Funnily some people think they should play beautiful. In reality they never really did. They always had world class players: Maradona, Mario Kempes, Messi

QuoteKoen I agree about Robben, did he learn this in Germany, or has he always done this? I'm Dutch and I don't like it, I would not be super happy if the win because of an obvious dive. He is good enough, he doesn't need to do it. Of course he did learn it from Germans. All the bad things come from Germany. We have the worst players, always cheating, most fouls, most cards and

Big Success!! The London/ US- Tour was the part to show the world they still can do it. But the European tour was so important for their reputation. Playing at big festivals in front of thousands of young people, getting knew fans, getting fantastic repoorts even in the critical media. Not just playing in front of high prized seated fans but playing classic rock audience. To me all this gave m

QuoteDoxa But If we think that "Streets of Love" - like "Slipping Away" - being actually is a sign of that approach you describe here, that also shows that the band appreciates Taylor as a musician who could do any thing needed, and not just an icon player of certain type playing on certain numbers in their past. That is, not treat him just as a 'nostalgia card'.

QuoteAquamarine Did anybody get a Berlin poster, meaning did it exist? They only seemed to have one poster, pre-rolled, and when I unrolled mine it was just the generic 14-on-Fire poster. sad smiley I got the Tshirt, and wish I'd got more stuff for others who couldn't be there, but it was a madhouse and I was half dead from climbing back up all those stairs . . When I came back from

What a blast!! These pictures are for you , angee! (and all who might be interested) You should have stood next to me. Still sad you couldn`t come over here in my hometown. I have never seen this band in such a great happy and warmhearted mood. You could see the joy in their faces. It seemed they were thrilled by the venue and audience. Mick and Keith, smiling and hugging each other, Keit

Quotedcba Imo what Jagger objected to was selling tons of arms to Saddam (in the 80's) then declaring he's @#$%&'s son (1990). That`s right dcba. But imo you can use the lyrics as a not dated statement in general. Don`t know how to say it in better words in a foreign laguage.. Tom Thanx for the correction

QuoteBeforeTheyMakeMeRun No, I don't think the Stones ever considered doing it live. It was written about a political event from the late 80s/early 90s, so by now, it would make for a good live rocker, but it would be dated. Just like the styles of 'Miss You' and 'Emotional Rescue'. winking smiley I agree that it is a great song, though. "We sell them missile

QuoteIrix The stage will be built up now, but there's not much to see from outside because the Waldbühne is almost completely surrounded by trees. Try the Glockenturm. In 1982 Abendschau did film from up there. Don`t know if you can still see the stage. Tom

A place everybody can find is Hard Rock Cafe (Kurfürstendamm/Meinekestr) or JAGGERS JAGGERS right around the corner (Meinekestr 21). Easy to get there from Waldbühne bei train (U-Bahn) and near to Gazza`s place Savignyplatz. Tom

Quotedoba They had Prince (L.A.) Iggy Pop, Van Halen (Orlando). Care to add more names? Yes I know all the support acts they had on that tour. Just remembered reports from that time that it wasn`t easy to have the actual number 1 in album charts as a support act. At the time Journey seemed to be a very popular band in the US. Tom

The Stones wanted to have a popular support act at that time I think. I remember reports that it wasn`t easy for the Stones during the tour cause Journey had a number 1 album at the time...I thought wow who else then the Stones could go on tour with an actual number 1 act as support! Tom

QuoteRobertJohnson Yes, the last time I was satisfied with Chuck Leavell. He used to play piano in the background with some interesting melody lines on Angie or Beast of Burden, but he wasn't yet that orgy plink plonk man nowadays who's getting on my nerves permanently .. Well if you`re satisfied with the piano that was Ian Stewart!! (sure you know..) To be correct: on grandpiano. Th

Like RobertJohnson I saw three gigs in Germany ´82. At that time I already had the complete Hampton `81 concert on tape and tried to compare the gigs I attended with what I knew from Hampton. I always had the impression that they were sloppier in Europe. But to be honest they started sloppy in the USA too and in Hampton they were at their peak. So the biggest surprise of all archive releases w
